Redskins Lose “Must Win” Game at Home
The Redskins lost another home game making their making their 3-6 going into the bye. They lost to the Carolina Panthers 13-21 and it was a game where neither the offense nor the defense showed up to play. QB Robert Griffin III didn’t play very well but he also didn’t get any help from the other offensive players. There were also some questionable play calling too especially the 4th and 1 call that resulted in no points. Also, what was the last play of the game?
The defense allowed a 99 yard drive that resulted in a touchdown for the Carolina Panthers. What else is there to say about the defense, it happens all the time. I really wish someone would ask Haslett and Morris why our corner backs don’t turn and look for the ball when a receiver turns his head. I mean c’mon, that’s basic for a CB. Yet time and time again I see our CB’s just throwing their hands up and getting pass interference calls on them.
After the game, head coach Mike Shanahan said the Redskins will be evaluating players over the remainder of the season which caused a stir in the media. Did he admit he was giving up on the season and not will evaluate players for the future? My question is should that evaluation have already taken place? These are players you went out and signed and drafted and not you’re going to evaluate them with 7 games left in the season. Maybe he just didn’t convey what he really wanted to say or maybe he did. I guess we’ll find out more about his comments at his 5pm press conference today.
