Redskins Ground Eagles 31-6

The Redskins gave the Eagles their 6th straight loss beating them convincingly 31-6 at home in Fedex Field.  Robert Griffin III finished the game with 4 TD pass and 84 yards rushing.  He completed 14 of 15 passes for 200 yards.  Two of the TD’s were long balls of 49 and 61 yards.  Alfred Morris, who in my opinion didn’t get the ball enough, was very effective in the 4th quarter when the Redskins wanted to work the clock.  He finished with 76 yards on 20 carries.

The defense probably played its best game of the year although it was against rookie QB Foles making his first start.  I’ll take it though.  The Redskins defense created turnovers (3 INT’s) and sacked Foles 4 times.  There was actually a semblance of a pass rush but Philly’s offensive line is in shambles.  Still, I’ll take it.

The Redskins actually had several players who came back from injuries.  Safety Brandon Merriweather played and played very well.  He was responsible for one of the INT’s and he really bought the hits with him.  He did suffer a knee injury and early word is he’ll be fine.  WR Pierre Garcon also played today.  He had 3 catches for 5 yards but it was good seeing him out there again.  He should make the offense better as he gets back into shape.

It was great hearing the RGII chants and there was even a We Want Dallas chant.  We’ll get Dallas and we only have a couple of days to prepare for them as we play them on Thanksgiving.  The Redskins will have to kick it up a notch to go in Dallas and get win.  Looking forward to it.

Hail To The Redskins.
