Red Skins Need Victory Bad This Thanksgiving In Dallas
It has been quite an up and down year for the Washington Redskins. After starting strong, they lost a handful of close games to division rivals such as the New York Giants and quickly became a long shot to make the playoffs. They seemingly have bounced back after a blowout victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in week 11 and look to be on their way to a run towards a wild card spot in the playoffs. They will need to stay strong, however, and get a hard fought victory over the Dallas Cowboys this coming Thursday.
One thing that simply must stay consistent for the team to succeed is quarterback Robert Griffin III. He has a few rough games before the teams BYE week that led many to believe he had been cooling off after a quick start. That certainly wasn’t the case this past Sunday against the Eagles, as Griffin had four touchdowns and 200 passing yards on the day. He also rushed a great deal and found a way to get an 80+ yard run in the middle of the match up. It’s plays like this that help build confidence in a young team like the Redskins. Coach Mike Shanahan must be extremely excited about playing America’s Team in their home stadium this coming Thanksgiving and seeing how the game plays out. With RG3 and young running back Alfred Morris at his disposal, he has a real shot at winning the game.
With the point spread at +3 for the Redskins this week, they could be good as one of your NFL picks on the day. They have the fire power to get out to an early lead against a sluggish Dallas offense, but they will need to have a strong showing from their defense is they want to ice this game later on in the day. Only time will tell as it pertains to this matchup.
