Redskins Look To Stay Strong In The NFC East

This past Thursday was a very thankful time for Washington Redskins fans.  After a lackluster start on the season where coach Mike Shanahan said they would be playing to see who is on the team next year, the club turned things around and defeated division rivals the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving day.  While this should be time for celebration for the team, they have to get ready for another tough division game this coming Monday Night with the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants.  With the odds so close on this game, the Redskins may be a good choice as one of your NFL picks for the week.

One thing the Redskins need to stay consistent on is protecting quarterback Robert Griffin III.  He has been the meal ticket for the team throughout the entire season and will continue to lead them to victory seemingly for years to come.  While he is a huge asset to them, they will need much more to beat a team as well rounded as the New York Giants.  This is why their defense needs to step up on the week and find a way to get big turnovers against Eli Manning and the rest of the New York offense.  If they can find a way to get the ball into RG3’s hands as frequently as possible, they have more than a good chance of not only covering the +2.5 points spread put on them but also winning the game.  Their preparation for the week will be the teams key to survival in week 13.

When it comes to interesting divisions into he NFL this year, few are more so than the NFC East.  With a hot run going on right now, the Washington Redskins could see yet another victory in that division this coming Sunday against the New York Giants.
