hR Mock Draft Database
Well, with the season ending for all but 4 teams, the Mock Drafts are popping up everywhere and were tracking as many as we can. Were thinking of some changes for next year already, but hey, were just getting started in this draft.
the hR mock draft database
We have significantly updated the database as far as Mock Drafts updated and added more partner mocks.
Currently, the Washington Redskins consensus choice is DE Calais Campbell from Miami. Campbell has been selected as the 21st pick by 28 mocks listed in the hR database. Let’s look at some info on Campbell from some of our great link partner who have really helped out hR with nice links. Campbell is a huge 6′7″ DE with a combination of great speed and power. Campbell is a junior coming out early and would fill a tremendous need for the Redskins. For the past 5 to 6 season,s the Redskins have lacked a bona fide pass rusher form the end. Although Andre Carter stepped up and played very nicely in 2007 for the Redskins, they lack strength on the other side of the lien and consistently fail to apply fresher from a 4 man rush. Campbell could help fix that. In his junior year at Miami, Campbell finished with 6 sacks and an interception. In 2006, he finished with 10.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss.
The second biggest consensus pick out there is the University of Florida’s DE Derrick Harvey. Again, I think many mocksters out there realize the imminent need of the Redskins at DE. Harvey has 18 different mocks liking him for the Redskins. Harvey is another junior that has decided to come out early. Harvey finished his junior year at Florida with 8.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss.
Other notable picks are DE Quentin Groves from Auburn, DE Lawrence Jackson from LSU, and DT Kentwan Balmer gaining significance.
I would be surprised to see the Redskins select a DT, considering the current success they are having with 2005 mid-round picks Anthony Montgomery and Kedric Golston.
We have added many new drafts and suspect more will continue popping up. Find one we don’t have, email us (hailreds@gmail.com), you have one and want it listed, email us, BUT remember, you must host the mock yourself, we don’t host Mock Drafts.
It seems several more sites are keeping mock drafts updated based on happenings within the NFL and by college announcements than all of the other 6 years we have tracked mock drafts. The competitiveness of draft sites, the bragging rights to accuracy are making these things a bit better. Are they perfect, no. BUT, admit it, dammit they are fun to watch!
There have been some emails about possibly setting aside some of the more serious mock draft sites as separate and distinct. We understand that concern, are considering that issue intensely. The only reasons we object is some of the NFL website and fan site related mocks have been pretty damn accurate. One thing we will do is provide special recognition to those sites that drive traffic, receive significant traffic and promote our Database. These guys and gals work hard and we at hR appreciate it.
Until then, enjoy!
