Goodbye Brett Favre

ESPN is reporting that Quarterback great Brett Favre has informed the Green Bay Packers that he will retire.  While not Redskins news, let’s face it, as Redskins fans and fans of the NFL in general, this is huge.  Favre is the icon of our day, the Johnny Unitas, the Bart Starr of our era.  He retires with a total of 5,377 completions, a whopping 61,655 yards, and 442 touchdowns and 288 interceptions.  An exceptional, exceptional career for a man that has meant and done so much for the National Football League.

Here is where Brett Favre stands in history;

As a football fan in general, I am sad to see Favre’s incredible career come to an end.  It was simply awesome watching him over the years.  No doubt a first time Hall of Fame balloter, on behalf of, we wish Brett Favre a happy retirement and say thank you for all that he has given the NFL.
