Redskins Release Sellers, Otogwe and Lose Salary Cap Money

Posted by: hail2skins on Monday, March 12th, 2012

The Redskins announced today that FB Mike Sellers and Safety Oshiomogho Otogwe were released.  Mike Sellers played with the Redskins for long time but was replaced by FB Darrel Young last season.  Otogwe was hurt most of last season and was only with the team for one season.  With the issues surrounding Laron Landry and the release of Otogwe, who knows who will be lining up at safety for the Redskins next season.

It has also been reported that the Redskins will lose $36 million in cap space because of front loading contracts in the uncapped year.  Don’t know what that’s about and won’t pretend that I do.  It is reported that they can split the loss of 2013 and 2014.  Hopefully more details about why will come out shortly.
