Redskins Fall To 1-1. Lose to St. Louis Rams 31-28

The Redskins lost to the St. Louis Rams 31-28 in a game where tensions were high.  WR Joshua Morgan made a bone-headed penalty by throwing the ball at St. Louis’s CB Finnegan after he caught a 7-yard pass on 3rd and 8 at the Rams 29 yard line.  He was called for unsportsman like conduct and the Redskins were backed up 15 yards.  Instead of 3rd and1 with at the Rams 29, it was 3rd and 16 with a little over a minute left in the game.  It also hurt that Robinson dropped a long pass that was in his hands.

The defense was terrible today although they scored a TD.  Other than that, they just flat out sucked today all around.  They let WR Danny Amendola catch balls all over the field for 160 yards on 15 catches.  Why didn’t Haslett put someone in face and jam him at the line.  It was ridiculous.

One thing that will be talked about is the performance of the refs in this game.  They let the game get out of control and allowed late hits on the QB’s and didn’t call anything.  This was the 2nd game today that feature high tensions from players.  It happened in the Eagles/Ravens game too.  Goodell needs to do something and do something quick.  Games can get dirty and that’s not something the NFL wants.

The Redskins suffered several injuries during the game.  Carriker and Orakpo both left the game and so did CB Josh Wilson.  Carriker suffered a knee injury that will need an MRI and Orakpo re-injured his shoulder.  Wilson suffered a concussion.

I won’t even discuss the special teams.  Another blocked punt.
