I don't like 5 exhibition games...4 is plenty for me.
Which ones are at home? Obviously the Denver game is in Ohio, and i heard the St. Louis game will be nationally televised from St. Louis. I just don't want to play Carolina at home...

The hokie part of me wants Vick to dominate this season, the Skins part would like him to be shut down in the preseason :).

5 games sucks for fans and players (starters) but is good for the coaches.

Geeesh, go figure, the kickoff game would be Portis and Bailey, considering it was the off-season blockbuster of a deal!

During the first team offense's only series in the HOF game, can the 'Skins please:
a) Throw deep to Coles as Roland helplessly watches five yards back; and/or
b) Create multiple gaping holes for Clinton to have easy access to the Broncos' secondary.

Would love for Coles to burn Champ. As for ortis I hope he gets 2 carries for 20 yards each and then lets see oodles of Betts. :)

Gibbs could benefit from 5 games (to help with learning curve). We don't need to see the starters much, but need extra time to gel (with 14 or so free agents). I don't mind the 5 games. Hope no one gets hurt, but would like to see 2nd & 3rd stringers get all the reps they can.

I doubt we'll see Coles, Portis or Bailey in the HOF game. Veterans seldom see any action in the first preseason game. Who wants one of their star players hurt in the first game of the year.
It will be scrubs vs scrubs. IF we see any of them, it won't be for more than 1 set of downs.

True... but Im sure we will still see that first set of downs at least. What a way to upset the league by benching those two guys when they are the whole reason to schedule the game.

preseason...who cares

How many snaps will Portis or Bailey play? My guess would be three or four. We need to get oodles of undrafted FAs to play these games so we can farm some cheap talent and not risk one of our stars going Vick or Pennington.

Great...
I was hoping it was the other way around. Now Fed Ex Field will be full of VTech fans and the Carolina neighbors to our South rooting against the Skins.

WHOA! Man, I was thinking the exact same thing. Thats scary.
I just hope that he wears the "old school" R script hat to really give us that old feeling. I like these new hat designs, but it's just not Gibbs. Know what I mean?

We will probably see the 1st string a whole quarter for the fact this is a new scheme for all the players and Gibbs will want to see how much they all have learned by then. As the pre season progresses they will play more.

The fifth preseason game will give Gibbs injury jitters, but I don't expect to see much of the starters anyway. In general, Gibbs would give his starting tailback less than ten carries during the preseason. On the other hand, Gibbs is paranoid about preparedness and he can never see enough of his team before the real games begin. For that reason I think Gibbs is pleased with the extra game.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us go 1-4 or 0-5 during preseason. Thats how it went in the old days.
I believe that game against the 49ers in Japan was the worst thing that could have happened to Spurrier in his coaching debut. That blowout against the 9ers led Spurrier to believe that his system worked in the NFL.

5 games is enough plenty. Hopefully we won't suffer any injuries. I am looking forward to the Carolina game.

Nothing to get too excited about (just pre-season) ........ I take that back the TV game against Denver should be good. Not because it is Denver (Portis/ Bailey thing) but because it is on TV period.

Ditto on that one Carmike....tough opponets. Plus that's how it was and is and who cares it's pre-season.
