I just came across the Red Zone 2004 Strength of Schedule (http://www.theredzone.org/strength.asp) . And once again, the cowgirls and eaglets have the softest schedules in the NFL. While the winning percentage of the teams the Skins will play is .492, the eaglets SOS is .472 and the cowgirls is .469. The Skins have the 22nd toughest schedule while the cowgirls and eaglets have the easiest schedules in the league.
Even the midgets have an easier schedule than the Skins (.480).
At least we are not playing one of the toughest schedules in the league like we did the last two years.
Now I realize that with parity and free agency, the won-lost record of the previous year is not a great predictor of the quality of your schedule, but giving the eaglets and cowgirls the easiest schedule in the league after the year they just had?
FYI, the teams with the toughest schedule are the Dolphins, Cardinals, Seahawks and Jaguars. Six teams are tied for fifth, including the Patriots.

As you said, it doesn't mean all that much, but it is still annoying that the Cowboys and Eagles get a mathematically easy schedule consistently despite their success.

whats .02 not that much
heir schedule is rated easier because both of these teams play us twice. We were 5-11. We play them twice they were 12-4 and 10-6. Therefore on paper an easier schedule.

There's no conspiracy involved here. You play 4 teams from a divisions in each conference, and a team from each of the remaining divisions in your own conference that finished the same place as you the previous season, as well as of course divisional games.

The best way to judge a teams schedule is AFTER the season is over. Some teams change drastically from year-to-year. Only after the season is complete do you know how hard your schedule really was.
These numbers are based on last years records...............I certainly hope we are better than 5-11.

Draft Winslow and the cowgirls and eagles strength of schedule will be where it should be.

Look at the Raiders from their Super Bowl year. Whoever had them the next looked like a tough opponent, but they rolled over. You should base nothing on strength analysis until at least camps are over and preseason has started.

Does NOT mean a damn thing!!! When you factor in player and coaches movement and all the injuries - it really does mean anything. We play who we play. What we have to do is win the game - regardless of who the other team is. ........... Don't get wrapped up in the strength of schedule Crap!!!!

To quote Chris Berman, "...but that's why they play the games."

They have 'easier' schedules because we are two of their games respetively and our schedule is harder because they both made the playoffs and are on our schedule. We have identical schedules save for 2 games. How much harder can ours be?

I was wondering when some one else figured that out. Strength of schedule is meaningless. Just line up and play.
