The team has decided not to re-sign defensive back David Terrell, according to a source with knowledge of the club's thinking

No big loss - the defense is steadily improving and Terrell was a journeyman player who got burned too often.
I wonder who else G. Williams will dump this year.

I thought Terrell played well last season as a CB and provided us depth at S for pretty cheap. What do I know.

E, I'm with you I think he played better as a CB. Anyhow it's time to move on. You think Andre Lott is worried. He better be.

Lott would be cheaper than Iffy. It Taylor is drafted, then Iffy should be worried, not Lott.

Saw this coming with Brown, Harris and Springs added to the mix.

Terell and Jimoh were the toast twins... Glad we upgraded... But with only Franz, Lott and Bowen on the roster... Taylor is looking more and more like a lock... :)

That's too bad, expected but I kinda liked him, ok I know he wasn't a superstar by any stretch but he was a good player on special teams that liked getting his hands dirty, while other guys seem to shy away from it, thought he played better than just ok as fill in cb and even though he got burnt, I liked that he went for the intercept in Miami!!! He also came very close more than a few times while here grabbing fumbles on special teams. Atleast he was in position to make a play! I remember also in year of Mart at GreenBay after he intercepted Farve at the goalline the Pack seemed to get pissed at him (? a wisecrack?) anyway the Packs runningback (not sure if it was Green) ran his ass over later in the game like David was a marked man! He took it like a man, I respected that!!! To some it up David looked to me like he tried all the time!,,,,,when some guys with 100 times more talent didn't!!!!! Best of luck to him!!! p.s. show us something Andr'e!!! Or your're next!!!!

He did an OK job and added depth to the backfield. Something in the works - you can tell.............

Glad to see him go ... I only seem to remember his bad plays, not the good ones. Oh well ... happy to see we have enough depth at the CB position though. I guess the FO was waiting to see whether those FAs signed before giving him the boot.

He should have been kept around for safety d-back depth, and especially special teams.

Terrell's strong points became special teams play and that will be missed. BUT, with the recent secondary signings, his time was coming.

I really dont see it as a big loss. Now if it was a defensive lineman well hehe.

Yeah, I agree. Not a big Terrell fan by any stretch, but he did make plays in Special Teams and had shown some heart (and desire). Does anyone know if we will save some pennies on the cap by releasing him. Every little bit helps.

Looks like we just might draft Taylor now. If the story is true that is.

This surprises me a little as Gibbs like depth in positions. Terrells depature leaves us a bit thin, no?
If this doesnt mean Taylor in the draft, then who will they bring in?

Oh well, he played well at CB and special teams but our signings gave me indication someone wouldn't be resigned.

I think Iffy was doing better and ahd a much better sense for the ball.
I got no complaints with sending Terrell to the curb. Look at the writing GW steps in looks a the film and immediately tries to hire every CB with some ability. Terrell di not make his cut. Better to let him go now if you dont think he is your kind of player than to wait a year nad have it confirmed..

I was saying this a year ago...Terrell is a terrible Saftey...he can't tackle...blows coverages....I big waste....

Thing is with Terrell, he has been on the cutting block now for a few seasons. AS a Safety, he did not fit. He should have been left at his natural position. He could have developed into a nice corner without all those years of trying Safety. BUT, he apparently wanted an opportunity to start and that was not going to happen at CB. With the signings of Harris and Brown, iot really does make him expendable. My assumption is, we will carry five CBs, Springs, Smoot, Bauman, Harris, and Brown, wiht Andre Lott being the floater back and forth to CB and S as depth, although I am beginning to wander if Lott's time is near as well.
