With Darrell Green getting 94% of the vote as the BEST EVER Redskins CB, it seems only fair to let a bunch duke it our for the second best ever CB spot on the hR Best Ever roster.

Sop here you go, choose the BEST EVER Redskins CB, next to Darrell Green, to hold down the oppostie spot on oru Best Ever Redskisn roster.

Lemar Parrish

I went with, no surprise, Champ Bailey. Lemar Parrish was great, but mostly with the Bengals. Mike Bass was fine, but really unremarkable. He's basically known for making one great play in a Super Bowl we lost. Joe Lavender would also be a good choice. That dude worked his tail off and did a better job of guarding Harold Carmichael than anyone else in the league. Vernon Dean and Barry Wilburn were basically also-ran guys.

Joe Lavender - 7 years a Redskin - 2 time pro-bowler - ! Gets my vote !
Would have been one heck of a combo - Lavender & Green !!!! Sweet!!!

Why is Deon not on the list ? He gave 49ers and da Boys Lombardi and took 8 sweet mills from Danny boy :)

Parrish! Had what 9 or 10 intercepts in 1979? Is that a record? Too lazy to look up the stats, the 79 Skins never get to Dallas with that game meaning anything without Lemar!!!! Tony Hill aside, the man gave everything he had that year!

If Champs on the list why is not Smoot? Anyway went with Pat Fischer.

What has Smoot done to be considered 2nd GREATEST CB in club history? At least Champ has 4 ProBowl appearances in Skins uni......

He had tackle phobia. I went with Parrish on this one. Lavander was a very close second. To me the best tandem to play TOGETHER we ever had. Green was way past his prime when Bailey finally came along. I would have liked to have seen Martin Mayhew on the list.

Champ might have been a winner herre had he chosen to stay for a longer period of time. Certainly he has more of the necessary skills than the others. That said, I will NEVER forget the hits little Pat Fischer used to put on people. Look back at some of those highlights and you'll see one incredible bone jarring hit after another. He definitely made up for his size in tenacity. If Champ ever learns to play with even half of the heart of a guy like Fischer he'll be phenomenal. (Too bad it won't be for us; oh well.)

I went with Champ as he may not be hte most liked guy here right now but he was the best in the league for years

I am "old school", so I voted for Pat Fischer.

He fooled alot of people with his size, but if he were to hit you, you wouldn't think he was a lightweight.

Pat Fischer for me.
Champ played with the Redskins BUT didn't want to be a Redskins, so in my mind, he'll never be one!!!

agreed, Even though I voted Vernon Dean. If I could re-vote it would be for PAt Fischer. He hit like a linebacker. something our Current CB's need to learn how to do.

Champ was easily the best #2 CB we had. The way he left is losing votes to others. Like it or not he was still a Redskin.

I watched Pat Fischer (and met him). He was one of the greatest over achievers ever in the NFL....but he was not nearly as gifted as Champ. Pat was small, short and not very fast. But he made up for it by playing smart and mean. (And he was such a nice guy, too!)

Honestly, I can't believe Chump is getting so much votes. Come on! Bailey has been always overrated. Have to go with the great Pat Fischer. If he had been a little bigger, he would be remembered as one of the best ever! That man sweated blood for the Redskins.... and it was Burgundy. NO question, Pat over Champ all the way. Hopefully this will show up in the poll, otherwise I'll be kinda disappointed, although I'll respect your opinion.

That's my point! Thanks, hope we could start something here, IMO it's unbelievable Chump is over Pat Fischer.

Champ...were talking talent here, its not how i feel about him leaving but in matter s of talent Champ is the Shoe in for second...

I disagree that we are talking talent. I believe the question really is who was the best for the Skins. Who did his job with total abandon...who was a Redskin all the way. Champ, though arguably the most talented of the lot, in my opinion, never laid it all on the line. Over the past several weeks, there has been much said on these boards on who got the better of the Portis/Champ deal. Most agreed that Champ was/is full of potential, but that potential will not be fullfilled in DC. Pat Fisher was a tough as nails ballplayer in the old school kind of way. He NEVER shied away from a hit or hard tackle. And as was mentioned a few posts above, he was a fearsome over-acheiver who made his mark, quite literally, on his former opponents, as well as his teammates. His tenacity wins this argument as far as I'm concerned.

Had to say Champ becuase he is so gifted and was on the team. I actually hope he plays 7-8 more years and a real comparison can be made between him and Mr. Heisman.....Charles
Woodson.

I've told my co-workers that there are some people in this forum even more addicted and crazed about the 'skins than I am. This poll would be ample proof.

I'm guessing the Champ vote is pretty unpopular right now.

pat fisher!!! the eagles had to go get 6 foot 7 inch harold carmichael just to even out the battle with fisher. does anybody remember that joe "the bird" lavender had about 15 different patrs of sunglasses he would wear on gameday, depending on the weather?

"Crazy Shades" mentioned him in original poll. Voted Parrish in this one. Not to downplay anyones opinion or vote, but Pat-GUTS-Fischer has to get it over Champ-Finicky-Bailey!

I read at the posts and see that there's a little inclination towards Fischer, but I see the results and STILL see Chump over Pat. Let me share you my point of view as I saw in a post earlier written. This is not about talent, this is about how much a player meant for the Redskins, who was better, despite of the talent. And, IMO, I have rarely seen a player so tough like Pat Fischer. Again, his blood was burgundy, he knew no fear, and did everything for the Redskins. Chump is overrated, wait and see. Trust in me.
