I went with between 1300-1500 yards. I think he could easily get about 100 yards a game, but I'm not sure our defense will allow him to do it. We might have to throw too much. Also, I factored in the possibility of missing a game or two to injury.

Went with 1000 to 1300yds. Read in the latest ESPN magazine where Don Breaux, the Redskins offensive coordinater, will steal from the Broncos playbook and run Denver's "stretch" running plays, in which Portis scoots wide, waits for a hole to open and then hit's it. If that's true, I'll be curious to see how our O-Linemen do blocking for him. Portis is only 5'11 205lb so I'll be curious to see if he can get 325 carries this year (he's never had more than 290 carries in a year) and not get injured. Anyway you look at it he'll be fun to watch this year being that he can go the distance anytime he touches the ball.

I went with 1000-1300. I just can't wait to see him run.

1301-1500. That's around 80-90 yards per game, more than doable for a guy like him.

I went with 1000-1300. Purely a wild, uneducated guess!

1301-1500. A high, realistic goal! I see him finishing strong because he's a tough kid.

I think he'll get about 1,660 yards breaking Stephen Davis' record and making us all forget about #48.

1301-1500.Hey we got a nice WR corp and two solid QBs not to mention neither of which are named Jake Plummer lol.Clinton will get this many yards easily if healthy, but I think we will have a pretty balanced attack, lessening the chance for him to hit the1701-1999 mark.

1301-1500. The NFC East will no longer be the NFC least next year.

1300-1500.

Gibb's likes to mix it up with the pass too much to have a RB with much more than that.

THE SKINS WILL USE THE RUN TO EAT THE CLOCK AFTER THEY GET A LEAD LIKE THEY DID WITH RIGGO WHEN THEY LED THE LEAGUE IN POINTS AND TIME OF POSSESSION. REMEMBER THAT IS ALSO WHEN THEY HAD 3 RECEIVERS GET 1000 YARDS (MONK SANDERS CLARK). PORTIS SHOULD GET 1300 - 1500.

I voted for between 1000-1300. This is the NFC East. Looks like alot of people are voting for what they would like to see him do.

Redwolf, is that you and your son?

He will be augmented by Betts / Rock to keep him fresh - so 1500 is realistic.

The OLine will be far better coached, the QB play will improve (one way or the other), and the WR corps is good enough that it has to be honored.

A balanced offense which will finish in the top 10 of the NFL. Defense will not be as good though.

HAIL!

Defense won't be as good? Seems to me we only have one way to go.

I'm saying the defense won't be as good as the offense, even if they use the draft for Taylor or Udeze. I'd guess the defense will be about average.

Most of the money has been spent on the offense in the last 2 years and it shows...

IF the 'skins draft Winslow - Portis WILL get 1500, because defenses will have to think about:

Coles & Company
Winslow
Portis & Back-ups

That would be a sight to see!

I agree that Gibbs will let his QB throw and since he will be well protected Coles will have quite a few yards himself this year :D

That being said I will be conservative (no comment from you Spence :p) and say 1000-1300

I went with the low end (1000-1300) simply because I think it's going to take the offesne a while to gell. That siad, I think this is the most exciting pick-up in years. Portis is a dymanic back with a distinctive style; he sort of glides in a way that lulls defenders into thinking he's not running full speed. By no means is he a juke and jive artist. For those who may be thinking it, no, he's not classic power back in the Riggins-Rogers mold...but then neither was Byner, and he did just fine in this system. 1500-1800 in '05. The sky is thel limit after that.
