I went with bad move because it probably wasn't a good move. I'd have preferred a he will make no freaking difference option.

I went with Good Move. Talk to too many Bears fans that told me that if he did not start, he will be great depth. Depth is good on a Gibbs team.

True, but we already had great depth guys (all of our starters from last year).

Concur.
He is probably the same type of player as Wynn and Upshaw, which begs the question, "Why did we sign him"?

Good Move.
He will be better against the run than Wynn, IMO, and considering we had the leagues 26th ranked rush D, we need all the help we can get!

BTW - Here are the comparision #s on Wynn and Daniels...
Wynn
6' 3"
292 lbs.
Daniels
6' 5"
288 lbs.
Over the last 29 games, Daniels has 96 tackles and 8 sacks, and Wynn has 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
I think Daniels is a major upgrade.

Bad move? Picking up My mother would've been an improvement over what we had.....

Is she an end or a tackle?

I think it is a good move. He is a solid DE and is an improvement from last years unit. I liked the pick up 4 weeks ago and until they line up and play that is not going to change. I have to see how he plays for us before I will change my mind on him or any other player.
went with good cause he's definitely an improvement over what we had, though how much? he's definitely not a stud that's going to to turn our line around

She can play both positions pretty well, but the Knee injury has hampered her quickness.....I'd put her at tackle :D

Alright there Parcells.....I put good because at least he is an upgrade over the jokers we had last year.

It's not like we're paying him that much, about 8 mil over 3 years? He's an upgrade, we'll be better than we were last year on our d line.

This is a great move. For once we are not going to try and have a high profile former #1 pick solve our d-line probs. Could be the best pickup of the off season. (Ex. Portis)

I say this guy picks up 7.5 sacks with a full 16 games. Who wouldn't pay 4mil for those #?

regan upshaw and peppi zellner were bad characters who left their previous teams under a cloud. daniels is the guy who came with the recommendation from blache from chicago. he was brought in based on his character and heart. also remember chicago stunk, its not like the defense could pin their ears back and rush the passer, the other team was never throwing the ball every down trying to come back from a defecit, they were probably being run on to eat the clock. stats can be misleading.

at least he is built more like charles mann than renaldo wynn.

remember the last time we had all 1st round picks across the d line? it was big daddy dan wilkinson, that fat dude from the 49ers who hurt his knee tripping over his steps at home, marco coleman who played a part in pet detective, and the kid we drafted number 14 overall from miami, i think he got exiled to cleveland... we gotta be better than that.

No, what's really depressing is Wynn - 2.25 sacks per season. I love the people who call this DL 'solid' so they can justify Taylor at any cost.
Daniels is an upgrade because our current DE's are so cheezy. He'd do great with Udeze on the other end though.....

good move, not a big contract and is better than all of our other DEs

Daniels will help. I would have preferred a better pass rusher.
Contrary to what others think, I think our D line is fairly good against the rush, now. My concern is the lack of pass rush.

Good move PROVIDED he's not being looked at as an impact defensive player. He's a solid player but we can't expect him to collect double digit sacks. He reminds me of Wynn, a solid player but needs other dominant players around him.

The d-line in no ways is dominat, however I think that we must take Sean Taylor. If you look at other teams in the division the one constant is great S play {Williams, Dawkins, S Williams}. We need an elite safety and Taylor is the guy.
I think that we have 2 options with the d-line
1. Trade Gardner for a 2nd or 3rd and take a d-lineman to help out.
2. Sign a June 1st cast off like a Hand, Brackens, Gardner.
I don't think that the Skins are making a run this year so build the team, with best player then next year we go rd 1 DE David Pollack when we are picking in th teens.

"True, but we already had great depth guys (all of our starters from last year") .... --LOL-- Daniels is he enough to fix last years defensive line ...NO... but this year under coach Williams I'm hoping for more.
