I don't think he'll excell but I also don't think he's another Stubblefield because he isn't getting nearly the hype that Dana got. He's an average DT and will play like one. I don't expect Pro Bowl numbers for him but I expect him to be an effective player and quality starter.

I think he will exceed his production totals from his Giants stint.I think he will be the best DT we have had since Joe left.I dont think he will be Stubby for us nor do i think he will be Dave Butz either.

he can't be stubby b/c he did not come in with the all pro expectations. i didn't vote b/c i think there should be a middle ground category.... i think he'll be very solid but probably not spectacular.

He won't be that bad b/c he didn't even switch divisions. He'll play at the same places he always has. He's quick like a cat.

I voted against him falling flat on his face more than for him excelling.

I think he'll beat his giants numbers. he has the potential to be one of the better d-tackles in the league, he just needs the opportunity (i.e. injury free season) to do so.

Griffin looks to be superior to Stubblefield physically, and I know Williams is far superior to any DC Stubblefield played for, so I think he will excel.

these are the top 5 defensive line free agents according to cbs sportsline. kearse has back to back foot injuries, is kind of a tweener, just run at him and he'll get hurt. and why would the titans let robaire smith lgo, after losing kearse? winstrom, maybe...sapp, no way. griffin is young, hungry and coming into his prime. stubby was fat lazy and coming off a "contract year" when we got him.
1. Jevon Kearse, DE, Titans (Signs with Philadelphia on Mar. 3)
2003 Key Stats
GP: 14 Tackles: Sacks: 9.5
Int: 1 TDs: 0 FF: 4
Prisco: Buyer beware. If he is healthy, he's worth a huge contract. But the team has to make sure not to blow this one because of medical trouble.
2. Robaire Smith, DT, Titans (Signs with Houston on Mar. 5)
Key Stats
GP: 16 Tackles: Sacks: 4.5
Int: 0 TDs: 0 FF: 1
Prisco: Based on his age (26), and his productivity, this is a top free agent. He will be missed in Tennessee.
3. Grant Wistrom, DE, Rams (Signs with Seattle on Mar. 4)
Key Stats
GP: 16 Tackles: 60 Sacks: 7.5
Int: 0 TDs: 0 FF: 1
Prisco: He is a tough, hard-nosed player who gets the most out of his ability. Is he a star? No. But he's Pro Bowl worthy at times.
4. Cornelius Griffin, DT, Giants (Signs with Washington on Mar. 4)
Key Stats
GP: 15 Tackles: 55 Sacks: 1
Int: 0 TDs: 0 FF: 0
Prisco: He hasn't played as well as he did as a rookie four years ago, but Griffin has the ability to be solid run player and can get some inside pressure.
5. Warren Sapp, DT, Bucs (Signs with Oakland on Mar. 22)
Key Stats
GP: 15 Tackles: 43 Sacks: 5
Int: 0 TDs

i wish i could do some kind of electroshock treatment to get stubblefield out of my brain. i was shocked and astounded when we were somehow able to land both big daddy and stubby, i thought it was the next coming of dave butz and darryl grant. it hurts my head to think about it. the fat tub of goo. griffin should not have his name in the same .... ok enough nevermind. griffin will ROCK!

He will be as good as the rest of the d-line allows him to be . If it turns out he's the biggest threat he'll get doubled every play. If he gets help from the rest of the line he'll excell.
