On april 24th the redskins are holding a free draft day party in which joe gibbs will fly in on a helicopter to speak to fans. Are there any rumors on what else may take place at fedex field on draft day for the fans?

word on the screets is there may be some players there to sign autographs, $1 hotdogs and sodas and $2 beer. also Snyder will prolly fly in the draft pick to make a quick announcement to the fans. no word yet on what players will be there. also the cheerleaders will be there if your into that sort of thing.

Did anyone go to the draft day party last year?

Did they let fans walk around FedEx...the concourse....the various seating sections? The reason I ask is I may be in line to relocate this year to some of those 4,500 new seats and am tempted to attend all the way from Harrisburg, PA to take a look at those seat locations in preparation for deciding whether to move down there or not.

It's not worth the trip to watch one draft pick but if I can get in some seat information gathering, it might be worth the trip down. Thanks for any help!! :bsmile:

Imagine how good our draft day party could be if we ever have all of our picks. Day 1 might be a real celebration!

Yes, I've gone the last two years. Great fun. I talked to many of the Cheerleaders, face to face, which is NEVER a bad thing.

Other than that, you can see the coaches and players walk by. You can walk into the seats and watch the draft on the Jumbotron, or walk around the entire club level area. Man, there is something about being around 15,000 Redskins fans wearing burgundy & gold.............in the spring!!

Autographs are hard to come by IMO. Too many people, too much competition. If there is a player sitting down to sign an autograph, you have to wait for hours just to get in line. If you see a player walking by, hes probably on his way to something specific and will politely tell you that he can't sign an autograph right now. Damn you CHRIS SAMUELS!!!

Anyway, I met fans that came from South Carolina, Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, etc. to be at the draft party. They usually have $1 hot dogs and many menu items are 50% off. It's a good time. Helps to pass the time in between the draft selections. It could be a long day.

Now, how could anyone forget the FAMOUS Redskins Band?! :honor: :honor: You guys rock!

And you get to play the best team fight song in Pro Sports!!! Hopefully, you will get to play it a little more often this year.....

Hey, what ever happened to the chorus who used to sing the words to 'Hail to the Redskins' at RFK? I didn't see them this past year at FedEx. Or are they just hiding from my line of sight?

They, along with the Pro Band were dismantled about 5 years ago.

Last year I believe they also had the cheerleaders last cuts and announced the new squad.

They also usually have a sale either in a tent out front or in the Redskins store on the Club level. I bet the merchandise will be flying off the shelf this year!
