Wondering who the Skins could consider trading with hopes of getting something in return of above average value ... the old thing about you have to give good to get good

I see Morton as a prime candidate now that Thrash is on the roster. Both are probably at best role players on the offense and reasonably good return men. I see Thrash as more likely to play with the offense than Morton now. Trading Morton could be expected to bring starter quality in return since he is a legitimate top shelf return man.

I'd also think the Skins could consider trading a reciever from Gardner on down but I don't think any one of them would bring in anything better than Morton.

*I'm also thinking that Gibbs is a more about good return teams being built around blocking more than the kick returner ... just a hunch considering all the ST linebackers that we have been signing lately.

curious what you think ...

I see Morton taking the role of Brian Mitchell, so I dont think he will be traded.

Options? Gardner, Trotter (of course), Canidate, Betts, (1 of the 2) and that's it.

Don't think Morton is going anywhere really. Trotter is definitely gone, but hopefully Gardner will be traded in the next few weeks for picks. I see Trung being cut rather than traded.

Morton isn't going anywhere. Gibbs wants good ST players and Morton is arguably the best in the league. Trung, Trotter, and Moore will all be released after June 1st. Gardner I think will be traded. I don't see us making anymore deals other then a possible trade down in the draft. We are just starting to finally set the roster and depth charts so we can head into camp.

I dont think Morton will be traded, but he might be bordering on expendable now with the acquistion of Thrash, I do think the Skins wouldnt refuse a decent offer for Morton.

I can honestly see Thrash becoming the #2 receiver so I think he'll see plenty of playing time. I think we can get rid of Trung and trade Gardner.

That's a good point you raise Striker.....Chad could get us that pick that we needed but we may need him this year...who knows what will happen....

I'd like to package Trotter and Gardner. If we could get a high 2nd round pick for them packaged.

I know the Chargers need alot. If we could get there 2nd round pick.

I can see Thrash as the #2 as well, especially given Gibbs' preference for veterans. Thrash has six years of experience going up against #1 corners. He's got the edge right now.

As for Morton, I see him as the new Brian Mitchell as well. And I like that idea of packaging Gardner and Trotter for the Charger's second-rounder... that's practically a first-round pick.

Trade Trotter and Gardner for sure and see if we can get a 5-6 for one of the two running backs{BETTS-Trung}

I wasn't saying that we should get rid of Morton, in fact its all the reasons why he is good ... but potentially replacable with Thrash for example ... that he seemed to be the most likely candidate to bring in a starter or a 2nd round pick. I can't see getting a second rounder for Gardner, can't see getting anything for Candidate I suspect most people expect him to be a training camp victim or at best a 2nd string RB. Betts is interesting but the fact that he didn't over-achieve probably means that we couldn't get a 2nd rounded for him either ... remember Watson an undrafted RB had similiar if not better numbers than Betts did for the Skins two years ago when they were the main guys in the back-field

I'd see trading Morton as the only reasonable hope of getting anything worth trading for at this point in the game

Trotter will probably yeild us nothing ......... More likely he'll be released 6/1.
Gardner maybe a second.
Morton, forget about it - he'll be the #1 ST go to guy.
Trung, who in their right mind would want him and he's too costly to get rid of. We're stuck with him.
Samuels is the only other one and that is very doubtful now that JoeB is taking over the line duties.

I don't think there is any way we trade Morton. Didn't we sign him to a crazy offer sheet last year so the Jets wouldn't match? I remember the whole arbitration thing, but his contract still has to be decent in size. So trading him now would probably have a sizeable hit - right??

I'm on board with letting Trotter and Gardner go, but I'm not so sure Thrash will beat out McCants/Jacobs for Gardners spot.

It's too bad we didn't use Canidate more effectively last year or we might be able to get at least something for him through trade. Didn't see his speed used too well...

Right now i think the plans are tooo shop Gardner and of coruse Trotter. The rest of the crew that may be ont he way out, have no trade value, such as Betts and Trung. Trung only has tradevalue if Spurrier comes back to another team. We coudl probably unload Trung and Russell for a first rounder if Spurrier came back somewhere.

With less than three weeks until draft day, we certainly need to work quickly whoever we move.

Trotter is more likely too be cut.
Gardner would possibly garner a second pick, my hunch is a third.
Morton is not going anywhere.
Betts, Trung, I cant see us getting anything of value for them, they just have not shown enough.
If we could get a second rounder for Rod I would be happy with that, but if he is still a Redskin come the season, I think he may well have a real good year.

i think that we could get a 7th round pick for trung, and i'll take whatever we can get for him. i want gardner out, and i think that we can get a 2nd rounder for him, maybe from baltimore. unless trotter restructures, i dont see us getting anything for him. but if he does restructure, do it so that we can keep him for like 2 more years.

Only Rod has any value it seems. I would like him to return.

Trotter and Candidate has very little trade value, teams expect them to be cut
Morton is not best return man a fellow name Hall in KC
Morton will not bring you more than a late pick unless the Jets will trade with us

Betts should be traded because he will bring a 4th- 7th pick, he will get better this season but still just a poor man's version of Stephen Davis except a better receiver out of the backfield, durability will continue to be a concern
The backfield is crowded with backs that have limitations

If Gardener is traded a late 2nd or 3th seems possible or DL help

Expect the unexpected on draft day from the skins
Gibbs is a fox and will not let people peep his hole card
This time of year NFL personnel folks put out rumors, misleading information etc... to keep ya guessing
