I heard on the ESPN chat site, that Norman Hand has signed with the Giants for 2 years 2million dollars and a 500k signing bonus.
I have not seen this reported anywhere else but if it is true why didn't the Skins sign him for that, it is less then Haley makes.

seconded. with the dearth of talent we have on the Dline, I don't think we can afford to be choosy.

He couldn't make it with the last two teams he was with so why would we want him? We have enough second rate talent on the D-line. He wouldn't improve us so why would we sign him.

We can't sign every free agent, nor do we attempt to, regardless of what the national media may have you to believe.

so the Giants dline will be:
Strahan
Martin Chase
Norman Hand
Fred Robbins
not that good.

Hand has been injury prone and is getting up in age. This line needs youth not more stop gaps.

Gibbs said he wanted to get younger also. Not old and beat up players like Hand.

I agree, I'm not really shaking in my boots thinking about their front four, even if they do have depth with their rookies a year ago.

Do we have to sign every D-lineman that becomes available? NO. The D-line is not as bad as some think. I cannot wait until the season starts to see who is right about this issue.

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the New York Giants have signed free agent DT Norman Hand (Seahawks) to a two-year contract, which includes a $340,000 signing bonus. Hand will earn base salaries of $660,000 (2004) and $900,000 (2005). He can earn a $100,000 workout bonus for 2005 and another $1 million in escalators based on playing time.

If it's true, then screw him. If its not, and Gibbs thinks it will help, yippie. I seriously doubt it though.

I dont want Norman Hand either, Im just tired of hearing people make assumtions on who is a "GIBBS GUY" and who is not... Its just silly, I mean...was Dexter Manley a Gibbs guy? I actualy think we shopuld trade down and pick up Wilfork.

Doesn't make our line look nearly so bad.

Strahan makes any line decent though. But god help them if they are taking our cast offs at DT
