it's an excellent acquisition and i know he'll be better than the 5th round or 6th round pick we traded for him. hope he scores vs. philly

I said yes but it depends one how we use him. I want to see the young guys get a shot first such as Taylor Jacobs and McCants. If Thrash is here for ST then I'm all for him as quality pickup but I want to see the younger guys given a chance at reciever.

If it's a true and open competition and Thrash wins out as the #3 (let's say) - wouldn't you want him to play? Wouldn't that ultimately make Jacobs a better player?

Personally I see Thrash as a back-up in case Jacobs or McCants or Gardener falters...............

My only comment is, who said no? C'mon share your opinion and enlighten me as to what's wrong with this. Is it that we don't need him? Do you think he flat out sucks? Is it that it throws Gardner's future into the unkown? Or was the fifth just to much to give away?

I would have said no BUT with so many young receivers on this team sitting on the bubble I think it wise to bring in a player who has proven his worth.

It's ok for me

This guy took WAYYY too much abuse from the Fickle Filly fans. They all loved him the first year, have hated him ever since, blaming their receivers for their continual collapse in the big game.

True, Thrash is NOT No. 1 receiver material, but he's got Gary Clark's fire, and this team DESPERATELY needs that, especially on offense. He'll be jacked to play the Eagles again. I hated to see him leave. I'm ecstatic that he's back home!

This is a no-brainer. He's inexpensive, experienced, pretty talented, and will excel as a third or fourth wideout. He can also return kicks and do other valuable things on special teams. And he won't bitch about it.

i'm glad he's back too. i like the idea of him and morton both back there to return kicks, and those 2 guys would make great gunners on punt coverage. i dont know who our punt returner is now either so maybe that will become thrash's job too. wasnt it patrick johnson last year? i think that was his name, that fast receiver we lost in free agency? thrash can replace him as backup wide receiver and punt returner.

I voted No. Not that I think he's a bad acquisition, but the fact that we gave up a pick for him when Philly had announced their intention to drop him anyway. I would've gambled on signing him after June 1.

I voted no for the following: He left under bad terms the first time . He has a hard time catching the ball. A reciever starved team like the Philly wants to get rid of one of their starters from last year, doesn't smell kosher to me.

Thrash brings toughness and good work ethic back to the Redskins. Alot of our young receivers will feed off this guy. It's going to be exciting! :typeR2:

Sure was, can't hurt to make a strong position even stronger. Also gives us leeway in terms of trading Rod, etc.

I agree totally depends and remains to be seen. I like the tandem on kickoffs, but he'll have to prove himself as a receiver on this team...if he ends up being just a special teams player we'll have to ask, "was it worth the cost?"

I voted "yes" but only because I don't see any negatives to vote "no". I don't believe that he will make any huge difference on the team, but he will provide more experience, desire, and flexibility than a rookie 5th rounder would. I guess i still have a bad taste in my mouth from when he left the Skins and I thought he was #1 receiver, Its not his fault I elevated a 3rd string to a #1. Guess it was just my Skins bias.

I voted no. We're cap constrained, have a whole slew of young recievers that need time, rather keep the draft pick.

That said, he was a favorite of mine when he was here the first time. When I think of him, I always think how he returned all those kicks for touchdowns in the preseason of his rookie year.

Right or wrong I voted no. He's soiled in my eyes, and it's got nothing to do with the Eagles. Feel he didn't real express interest in staying the first time so where is there any loyalty? Will find it hard to root for him despite his good qualities. As mentioned the thrown away draft pick is poor planning when Thrash is one of the guys that curled up in the fetal position every time Philly needed him to step up. Would hate to see him take any playing time at reciever, know that sounds wrong, but would rather see the other guys (including Cliff if he makes the team) get max. time in, even if growing pains must be dealt with. Despite his good points, I'll have a hard time rooting for him.

I voted yes because A) we are taking him away from the Eagles and B)now we have an excuse to trade Rod Gardner.

I think Thrash can compliment Coles better than Gardner did. He's not as fast as other receivers we have but I believe he can get the job done.

Good price. Hard working. Multi-talented.

If he had just caught that Jeff George pass in 2000 against the Jints.

I ay no because he was gonna get cut anyway. Why use a draft pick on a position that is our strength. Now if it had been a DL then by all means.

I wasn't thrilled when we first picked him up, like Keino, I didn't think we needed to give up a pick for him. But, he's a pretty consistant player, he's good in the long passing situation and he knows where the endzone is. I like that we will be able to use him on kick returns, he has a 24 yd return average, and we could use the help back there.

RichardBradley

For all of you that said no because he was going to get cut anyway... Then we would have had to get into a bidding war.. What we did was smart......Thrash is a blue collar guy like Gary Clark

Thrash should be a good veteran influence for the Redskin's young talented WR's, and he adds depth which is important. Was a good move by the FO

Can't think of a reason not to like. We gave up a 5th I think. Probably worth it since there could have been a bidding battle if we waited till after June cuts.

Gibbs really brings out the best in players who possess a great work ethic -- Thrash fits this profile to the tee-- NOT to mention Coach Gibbs states "the heart of the team is Special Teams" ...Trash = GREAT special teams player
