Since I'm a newt here this may very well be a worn out subject, but...
Vinnie C. ran the 9ers into salary cap hell and I don't think the 'Skins will ever be a year-in year-out competitor with him (AND Danny) throwing stupid money around. We don't seem to get the bargain, bang-for-the-buck players.

Times are a changing with Gibbs back.Look for a few more role players.I think it was Doc Walker who said :Look for the talent level on the Redskins to go down, but the win total to go up.

Oh, I hope Joe has a great deal of input on player acquisition. I just think he's gonna need some hand-holding concerning the cap issues & I know Vinnie the C isn't the guy to do it.

I've never been at peace with Vinny holding the position he holds with the Redskins. I'm always worried about what Vinny is doing because of what happened to the 49ers with the salary cap.

Won't happen. He is a buddy of Snyder. Besides, Vinny has little to do with our salary cap. That all comes down to Dan Snyder and that Sheaffer guy. Vinny is a talent evaluator now, pure and simple. He and his department evaluate and prepare reports for Gibbs and staff who tell Snyder who he wants. Snyder then goes to sign them and uses Sheaffer to figure out how to fit them under the cap. Vinny really has little to do with our cap problems anymore.
