What a difference a year makes!

Remember last year when SS got in a tizzy because Snyder sided with Cerrato and cut Wuerffel at the end of TC. SS said he thought he would be able to pick the backup QB, but the tiebreaking vote went with Cerrato?

I thought this was interesting from today's Post article.

"It has been a group decision, but coach will have ultimate say," Cerrato said. "Why shove someone down his throat that doesn't fit his team?"

That is a complete 180 degree approach from last year.

Gibbs should, and hopefully does, have final say on personnel. I don't want him having any second thoughts about coming back if he were to feel that he can't even pick the players he is going to battle with.

i think in bringing back Gibbs as coach and president, Snyder is conceding his and Cerrato's failures as GM.. they're still gonna have their say but they respect Gibbs way too much to disagree over the coach's last call. and Stupidier was a college guy who was used to recruiting HS players so obviously no one in the FO respected his NFL expertise.. that whole ordeal just showed the potential debacle of the entire team which came to fruition.

To me that shows a lack of trust in the other people who where there before Gibbs.

Sorry to put a damper on everyone's parade but I'm elated to have Gibbs back as a coach. But as far as a GM.....I'm in a wait and see mode.

If he doesn't fix the D-line with this draft, then I'll know he's like Parcells, Holmgren,Shananhan and the rest of the great coaches. Good at ONLY coaching!

Take the best player available. Let coach Gibbs and his staff work with the players we have now. As bad as our DL was last year, we could have very easily been in the playoffs with better coaching last year.

I'm with you CarMike.While we have to address the DLine,there doesn't seem to be a bonafide star at that position,it's not going to happen overnight.T ake a stud and enjoy the parade!!!

geez.. ur only putting a damper on ur own parade.. show some Redskins pride.. there is NO way he's gonna fix the DL w/ a top 5 pick and then a 5th or 6th rounder! DL this year is WEAK.. don't compare it to last year when a million got chosen in the first round and none of them have made an impact! except for T. Suggs and he's more an OLB. the DL lovers need to stop w/ this... we're going to select Winslow or Taylor w/ the 5th pick and probably will select an unknown DL prospect w/ the other 2 low picks. calm down and just enjoy Gibbs' show! :beer:
