Ladies and Gentlemen, I firmly believe that the piece of evidence we have been looking for as to who the Redskins will select has been found. I would first like to say that this bit of evidence is the only reason that I have come back after a brief hiatus. My apologies to those of you would have liked to see me out longer, but this is something of note.
In another thread I just read something that REDWOLF1218 has cued me into; Ifeanyi Ohalete remains unsigned. I hope I'm just paranoid, but this seems like a very good indication that Sean Taylor (if available) will be the pick. Possibly Iffy (my favorite safety) is going through contract negotiations, or the matter has yet to be settled. Regardless, it makes too much sense to me. I can only hope that this is my paranoia, but I will not give up on the promise of trading down and helping out the dline. I suppose we'll know in a short 8 hours, and all of this speculation that we have been going back and forth on for the last month and a half will become null and void.
I believe the last gasp the idea of a trade down has is if Sean Taylor is selected before us. Oh by the way, nice to be back.

you are welcome on here any time brother. Certainly from my point of view. While not on the Taylor Bandwagon, I think we all agree whether we sign Taylor, Winslow or Trade Down, it will not be a disaster.
It is strange that iffy remains unsigned purely because we need depth at safety, and he is good depth, should Taylor be signed.

Don't get me wrong, I honestly have nothing against Taylor. He'll be a fine addition. I just wish we could do something about the defensive line. I will shed a tear for Iffy if he goes elsewhere, and wish him all the best (even if he goes somewhere like Dallas). Look at what I have become spouting off on tangents, must be 4 in the morning after a college Friday night. Anyway, I will welcome Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow II, Kenechi Udeze, Tommie Harris, or whoever we get. I just would have liked one option just a little more...

Again, we can not be totally sure that there is not a plan inplace with June 1 transactions to address the Line further.

i still dont get it thought because even if they take taylor they need backups so to me it says more about how much they must like todd franz and andre lott, and maybe franz and lott are cheaper.

oops. was going to say, in a trade down scenario, they might have another safety or 2 in mind whom they think is just as good or better but was not on TV every weekend.

Iffy IS signed - to a 1 year tender offer. Since no team signed him to an offer sheet before April 16th he is ours (albeit for 1 more year).

I think that is a good sign that the FO wants Taylor if he's there, otherwise we will probably take Winslow. If Taylor and Winslow are both somehow gone, then we trade down and take Wilfork.

I was going to point that out as well.

I agree with this analysis.

I as well. In fact, he is scheduled to be on hand at the Draft Party today as well. Sounds like someone who is on the team to me.

Should tell you that maybe we all give Iffy too much credit. If he was that good other teams would be hunting him down for the min tender we offered him

Perhaps the reason we haven't signed Iffy is to allow us to consider offers from Jacksonville for the #9 and Donovan Darius.
