Coles, Gardner, McCants, Taylor, Thrash, Russell, Cloman. Who will be the top 3 WRs ? ......will we have 0,1,2, or 3 1000yrd WRs in 2004 ????
how about 4 X 800 yard WRs

I think we will have one 1000 yard receiver and possibly 2 but I would suspect800 yard receiver . cuz portis will be running the ball alot so id say the third receiver might get about 300 yards

That's a bunch of very good to good receivers, it's possible to get big production from them, I'd say 2 1,000 yders is possible if not probable. If coach Gibbs goes for his lone back set, and Portis runs well enough, there might be well enough room for the receivers to get big yardage.

our 3rd and 4th WRs McCants and Jacobs could be #1 WRs on some other NFL teams if given the chance.....they are both very talented

Coles will definately hit a 1000 yards toe permitting. Rod and DMAC will be pretty close to 900 and 600 respectively. I expect Portis to get around 400, Cooley 250.

As much as I love Dmac, you gusy and gals can't dismiss that Taylor Jacobs coudl be in the running for the third spot. Gibbs pointe dhim, he does have excellent talent, and his speed coudl really compliment speedster Coles and possession guy Gardner. Don't just hand McCants the numner three spot just yet!

True enough Mr. Penn, but for the contract that Dmac just signed, I dunno if he's gonna be out of the mix. I might actually think that Rod may get traded during the season, depending on who actually is desperate enough to get him. Now that the draft is over, this opens the floodgates for the trade Rod now gurus.

I agree with the talent we have at WR some class players have to sit.....Gardner will be the guy to go $$$$ for talent. We will get some help on the D-Line and this seems like the best way.

I think three wideouts will be Coles, Gardner, and DMC, with Taylor and Thrash at the last two spots. If we carry 6 wideouts then I guess Russell is the guy because he is under contract still from his rookie deal. Every year we all get excited about Cloman because of his size but he hasn't yet made it to the team, this is one year where he is chances are going to be even slimmer because of our depth.

1 - coles
2 - gardner
3 - mccants(2/3 could flip flop)
4 - thrash
5 - jacobs
1 1,000 yd rcvr(coles) and the rest will have more than 500

if these guys bring back the Posse aura .. we'll all be happy.
and remember Portis will get plenty of catches as well.. i put up some of the receiving stats from the late 80s and early 90s on other threads and Byner would have around 50 catches. sharing the wealth baby.

russell should be cut IMO. unless he shows some focus.
out of those 7, three of the guys have been starters/#1 receivers at some point in their careers. how many teams can claim to have that much depth? i hope to see jacobs have a break out year.....

1. Coles (over 1000 yards)
2. Gardner ( over 800 yards)
3. Mccants
4. Jacobs
5. Thrash

Coles, Gardner, and McCants. Thats all we need. Possibly down the line Taylor Jacobs will replace Gardner (MAYBE). But i actually think Gardner will stay after this year.

You heard it here first, don't be surprised if Thrash moves up into the 2 or 3 position. There will be good competition at the WR position.

Thrash is very fast but Coles, Gardner, McCants and Jacobs all have better hands............Jacobs will be a star someday.......McCants is simply awsome and Coles and Gardner are argualby the best WR tandam in Football.

Barring any trades? Coles, Gardner and Thrash. Toss up between #2 and 3. I don't think we will have 3 1000 yards WR. Probably 2. Portis will {crosses fingers} set the franchise rushing record this season so we won't need to put the ball up as much as we did in '89 when we had 3 1000 yard WR and still didn't make the playoffs.

I don't think we will have 3 wr's on too many plays because of the focus on the H-Back position. One thing that works to our advantage is that teams will be looking at "Old Redskins Video's" and Gibbs is aware of this. He won't show anything in preseason and we can surprise opponents.

Question about Russell. How come everyone seems to ignore this guy or dislikes him? He only got in the game a few times last year and had what 2 passes thrown at him. I did a little research and when you see comments from Utes fans they feel sorry that he was around when they had terrible quarterbacks that could do nothing but under throw him on fly routes. A few comments about coming back/adjusting for the ball but for the most part glowing comments. You don't get to see 4.2 speed on grass very often, is that the only reason he is here? What's his problem?

He has the speed but not the hands as witnessed during last years preseason. He basically dropped everything that was thrown at him.

Would this improve under a great coach like Gibbs?
I don't know much about this guy...

to much competition with Coles, Gardner, McCants and Jacobs ....all these guys have a natural talent.....Thrash is very fast but has average hands also.
