He didn't rip the Skins for the cuts. What's up with that?

Interesting ...... it would seem his focus is on the player and not the team that cut him. Must be one of the few times he's writing in the "RIGHT" direction.

ESPN knows there's more to this story then everyone knows. S. Salisbury last nite on SportsCenter said "a prominent player on the Skins' told me he was not the player they thought he would be." .. it can't be just the fall off in productivity since everyone knew he was coming back from ACL injury. something else went on we dunno about.. and all teams are wary of it also.

Maybe he's had his cake already today. I thought it was interesting he thinks Candidate will find work quicker than Trotter, but I see his point. I hope he signs with the G-men, but then again Portis doesn't need that much help to gain mega yards.

what's interesting to me is that pastabelly lists him as a "high-character" player. isn't that one of the issues we had with cutting him? I thought that quite a large portion of the FO's problem with him was he was pretty subversive in the locker room.

He must of written this on the way to the cafeteria (God forgive me, I know it's not nice).

I sense the same thing.Something doesn't meet the eye.He was the only one uninvited to the minicamps. Why?
The LB's were always out of position, but LaVar gets a fat contract.Trotter was fired up about this upcomming season prior to Gibbs comming back. The math doesn't add up.

Trotter played with better talent and a scheme that suited him in Philly. But he isn't the first player to have a sudden drop in intensity after signing a big fat contract. Dana Somebody comes to mind...............

If you read closely you can see Pasquarelli's bias against the skins continues.

Two excerpts:

Trotter was one of three veterans unceremoniously released by the Redskins

"Unceremoniously"? What was unceremonious about it? June 1 came and we cut three guys. Many teams in the league cut guys. Subtle things like this really piss me off.

While teams around the league might question the Redskins' acumen in most personnel matters, and feel their discarding of Trotter was hasty, there are enough questions about Trotter that even interested clubs will proceed with some caution

Nice, huh? So now we are morons who seem to have done something not so bad.

This is what i believe, I think either Trotter and Lavar were either becoming too much like each other, out of position, missing tackles and Danny wanted to take care of the draftee in Arrington by saving him from the big bad wolf.

Trotter came with some issues. His work eithic may have not been up to par...maybe someone dropped a dime on him to Gibbs. Maybe it was needed. I think all of this got Lavars' attention quickly...and he seems to be refocused. I think also Trotter did not turn out to be the leader they expected. I just feel that Lavar could be the best LB (after Ray Ray) he can be, he just doens't seem to have an identity yet. And I think Gibbs will get the true LB identity out of him in the next year or so........

Mike Holmgren was asked by reporters if the Seahawks were interested in Trotter. To Paraphrase, he said they didn't think Trotter was as good as billed.

Pretty telling, considering Rhodes is the DC....

Some may call this a little crazy. But i know why the redskins may have let go of Trotter.I do a lot of public and private autograph signings with redskins players and other football players from other teams.I will not say what player told me this, but he is still on the team. Back in Oct. 2003 when the redskins started to go south and players and coaches did not see eye to eye on team issues Trotter and Lavar had a little verbal falling out and Trotter ended up laying out Lavar in the locker room. And we know the rest of the story.I am sure this is not the only reason. But when the super star of the team wants another player gone it happens.Lavar signs a nice fat contract and Trotter is gone.End of story. :sfight:

i don't doubt that occured. Lavar during the first mini-camp specifically mentioned how this team doesn't have any more primadonas who'll put themselves over the team. i was thinking there's really no other player he was talking about other than B. Smith and Trotter since he referred to Champ's leaving as "death". he does have some input on the team and i'm sure he told Gibbs and the new staff some things about every player. and Gibbs during the press conference when he announced Trotter to seek a trade said he and the team reviewed "all" circumstances not just on field performance.
