Why do teams wait until mid Summer to start signing picks? I've always wondered why the team and the player don't get started right away.

Because everybody wants to wait and see what the number one pick gets. and the number one wants to wait until everyone else signs so that he can be sure to get more. Once the first salary comes out, most of the rest fall in line. I would like to see a rookie cap similar to the NBA's so that all players earn their money and there's no holding out. Lebron and Melo seem to be doing just fine.

The longer they wait the more sense of urgency is in the air to get them signed to get more money for their client...Its smart actually. SkinsKY is also right cas they like to use other picks a guide for what their client should get. Some lesser known agents that handle more of the late round picks started early this year and its pissing off the big name agents. Ok I'm done talking haha

Penalty: Suspended one year from representing NFL players in contract negotiations, prohibited from recruiting new clients for the same period and fined $3,000.

Charge: Mato provided items of monetary value to student athletes from the University of Miami who had NCAA eligibility remaining. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit unlicensed sports activity and one count of conspiracy to commit perjury. He did not disclose any of those facts on his certification application.

apparently its either mato or parker. im gonna think its mato though. it doesnt matter if rosenhaus represented portis(he represents alot of miami players too), cause we signed portis to a new deal, so we dont have to worry about him for awhile.
