Q: Have you seen leaders emerge yet?

A: We've picked out players of the week already based on how they've worked and some guys have been here 100 percent in the offseason. We can tell you who the funny bones are and who provides leadership to the team. It's not always who is the most vocal guy and the team starts to look to certain guys.

Q: Is Patrick Ramsey 100 percent?

A: Yes.

Q: How about Shawn Springs?

A: He's coming along well and he's worked real hard.

Q: How is Laveranues Coles' foot?

A: We want to be judicious with him and we hope by the time he gets to camp [he'll be fine]. He's day to day.

He still left open the possiblity (probability?) of more signings when questioned about Jason Gildon.

Why not go after Gildon? He'd be a nice DE.

Coles foot is becoming a real concern for me. It must be something seriously wrong to still be limiting his work. It could come back in camp and Coles would miss the season.

Guess it's a good thing we kept Gardner then! For all of you who wanted to trade Gardner, this is the primary reason we need him, in case Coles goes down. We would still be ok without Coles with our depth, but it would definately make a difference.

it could also be a reason to have 13 receivers on the roster. maybe its a lil worse than we are being led to believe.

I think you are getting worked up over nothing. Coles had 82 Catches and 1200 yards last year, playing on the injured foot. Im sure they are just being careful with him so that he is 100% by camp.

If the season started today Coles would play
His foot is healing slowly because he played in the Pro Bowl with injury
plus the team is being cautious
To the 50/50 haters(Rod Gardner) he has not turned into a star yet
true he may not be a Redskin next
Like alot of young receivers entering the league he drops alot balls
cut the excuses of not having a Qb
Rod just did not work hard enough until Coles arrived the #1 draft pick thing went to his head
My faith rest with Gibbs knowing what to do with his talent and yes people he is talented
Personally i think the team would have gotten a #2 despite a wealth of receivers in the draft because you know what your getting
i would have traded him and draft a Dlineman but thats why i am a die hard fan just expressing my opinions

1) he's old
2) he'd in decline
3) bad talent to pay ratio
4) the ravens seem to want him and they have more money to spend

Would you prefer us not to use it at all? Got any better ideas on how to spend it, I'd like to hear.

well why do you wanna keep on spending it on overpriced veterans in decline? I thought we learned our lesson with Dana Stubblefield... guess not

i think as long as we have cap room we need to use it. just as long as we don't sign contracts with lots of guaranteed money........like signing bonuses....i don't know if gildon is the short term answer but we really need some kind of legitimate pass rusher from the end position....right now all we have is a bunch of run stoppers.which is still better than we have had in the recent years but i say sign whoever could help our team..if you have a lifeline then use it don't go home wondering what if.
