to put him on the unprotected list....and if he goes to Charlotte...my hope is that he comes back and regularly kicks Wizard butt.....I like Blake but I truly admired Juan...little skinny guy with all that family trauma...shows he had great heart....
Wizard Management is still...terrible...

OK, got it now ... yeah, good question. I would rather had Blake unprotected since I doubt they'd take him, but they could really thak Dixon. I'm nervous!!!

Dixon is too popular for Arenas' ego...and Stackhouse's ego and Hughes' ego...and that is why they did this...

I would certainly miss him, but not as much as my daughter.
She has been a Juan Dixon fan since he was at Maryland.
I have been meaning to get his Wizards jersey for her, but in the event he goes to Charlotte I wonder if I will still be able to get it.

I like juan as a person but im sorry he has not showed much on the court as a pro, don't get me wrong blake has not done anything of much as well, both were homer picks buy the worst run franchies of any pro team in sports history.

actually...Juan is following the normal progression....his output has increased each year and his points per minute are outstanding....as for both Blake and Dixon being homers...you bet...they need help(the Wizards do) and Dixon and Blake are well respected turtles....and bring fannies into watch the Wiz

Juan was not taken last night nor was Haywood....sadly Lonnie Baxter was...but he was a restricted free agent who now cannot sign with Washington....
Where did you hear that Haywood was not protected?

I'm sure Haywood was protected and I was glad to see Juan didn't go - people always underestimate him and he proves them wrong time after time.

I think they are the only players representing UMD (besides Steve Fracis) and they arent doing a great job at it. If you watch the Wiz games then you become a lot more bias like me. I think that Steve Blake has potential but he passes too much. I know passing is good, but sometime there is like 3 seconds left on the shot clock and he drives in and he has a good look for a layup then he passes it and we get a turnover. But he is turning into a great three point shooter. As for Juan Dixon, I dont know why people say he is only an offensive player. He puts a tremendous amount of pressure on defense. He is the momentum builder for the team. He should play more...
TRADE LARRY HUGHES AND JERRY STACKHOUSE TO THE MAGIC FOR STEVE FRANCIS (after the T-Mac to Rockets trade)

I think Dixon is great on Defense - he is always around the ball and creates a lot of turnovers and gets steals. I would love if they traded Stack, but I don't see that happening.

Exactly...the wiz need to keep their core and build a bit and they will be very good...I hope...

i am a big dixon fan and i am really happy he is still here. i was hoping that wizards trade stackhouse and their first to the clippers for their first and pick deng.

I'm a big Dixon fan too, but all these Maryland players look like they can't cut it IMO. Steve Blake? That was a waste of a draft pick. Lonny Baxter wasn't gonna do much either. I LOVED these guys on the Terps, don't get me wrong, but we need better players on the Wizards.

All three of these guys are still early in their careers and all are improving....it remains to be seen just how well they will do...Dixon has improved each year...and Blake has improved his shot...if Blake gets on a weight program and continues to work...he just might do really well at the point...
Juan is going to struggle because of his size...but as some have said...his heart just might help him overcome that disadvantage....
