I really hope we package this pick with some players to get somebody really special, but if i had to choose, It would be the big guy from Arizona or Deng.

Well we dont have that #5 anymore. Now its all about the 2nd rounder. Darius Rice from miami is a very good prospect who should be available in the 2nd round. For those of you who dont know him, Jerry Rice is his uncle which means hes got good blood (hey good blood was enough for the giants to mortgage their entire future). Hes also a 6-10 small forward. Hes skinny, but he can run jump, defend, and shoot. He is a lot like Tayshaun Prince.
Another guy they should consider is Tim Pickett. You know the FSU gaurd who has unbelievable althelticism, and can score at will. I remember the Duke game when he called for the ball 30 feet out, and hit a 3.
Or they could go the European route and take some unknown 7 foot Ukranian guy, and watch him never be able to get out of his contract in the Greek league.
ya beat me to it cause i was retarded and posted it in the wrong forum...jamison as the 5th pick is a great deal...especially in this draft

he's from South Korea. he would make a great pick but he's a couple years from being NBA ready but definitely have the talent.. but he's projected as a late 1st rounder to early 2nd round so i'd be ecstatic if he came to D.C.

who.. Kudu or Ha? Kudu is a 7-11 265lb. project who shot baskets made of antelop horns and nets made of zebra skin.. his own scout says he's not athletic and is skinnier than Shawn Bradley. but Ha is 7-4 305 lb. and has a lot of upside and have been improving rapidly the last few years training in L.A. w/ SFX and being taught by ex-NBA players.. he's got potential and have skills while Kudu is a total project.

From that Kudu article....
"But I think it's safe to say that we all speak the language of basketball," Sefu says. "Even though Chimezie has been playing all his life with a ball made out of fused sheep's testicles."
That's a lot of things, but it's not the language of basketball.....

The Bullets traded the fifth pick and Jerry Stackhouse and Christian Laettner to the Dallas Mavericks for Antwan Jamison.
For the Mavs the trade is all about getting trade bait [like that 5th pick] that they can move to the Lakers in exchange for Shaq. They're trying to stockpile as much as they can so they can get Shaq without having to give up Dirk Nowitzki. [If I'm the Lakers I get Nowitzki in any deal or there is no deal.]
For the Bullets the trade is about getting rid of two expensive malcontents on the downside of their careers. Laettner is almost 35 and still has not grown up. He spent the second half of the season with his ass glued to the bench. Stackhouse will be 30 later this year and his knees are already balking. He's never had a good shot, getting his points all on athleticism. The moment his athleticism leaves him Stackhouse's career is over. Jamison can step in and play that quick forward position right now. I hear they may try him at the strong forward, but I think that's a mistake. Play him at the quick forward and the Bullets will have made a good move.

yeah i thought the smiley was a give-away as well but couldn't resist believing it.. didn't even read the entire article and stopped after reading about the antelop horned rim and zebra skinned net lol.. thought it might've been like the movie "Air Up There" type story.

"He's a very sensitive guy, and he might not want to hurt the feelings of those playing with him," he says. "We might have to work that into his contract as an incentive, but I can't guarantee anything on that front.

Good job, on both moves Ernie. Amazing what you can do when you have a qualified GM in place. Hopefully Abe won't whack him if he pisses off Susan O'Malley or Unseld decides he wants to start working again.

Peter John Ramos is huge - 7' - 3", 275 lbs!!! Oh my - I hope he works out for them. I like Etan Thomas at center right now (over Haywood), but this kid could develop into a starter w/ his size.
