Doesn't make much sense to me here. Why not keep this pick and draft Deng or Iguodala or anyone who could make this team better for the next 5-10 years. Jamison is great, fantastic scorer, but is what he does that much different than what Stack or Hughes already does for this squad. I would have kept the pick and seen what was available there before trading it away.

I think Jamison is a damn good player, and most importantly, he's a bigman. He'll be given the chance to shine and be the focal point and leader of the Wizards.

my thoughts exactly...this guy was one of my favorite players on the Mav's this year, even above Dirk. he's a big time player with a GREAT attitude. he was willing to come to Dallas and be the 6th man when he'd been the man in golden state for so long. you guys got lucky here. you aren't going to find anyone at 5 to be this good immediately and he's still pretty young. arenas and jamison together again's not a bad place to start for this team!

AND if the Kwame Brown project comes around, thats a pretty good pair with him and Jamison. Nevertheless, it's getting me more excited about our basketball team.

Jamison is big enough to play center in the east i think. What a great scoring lineup that is.
arenas
hughes
stackhouse
kwame
jamison
that is maybe the most athletic lineup in the nba. Anytime you have a center who is athletic enough to play small forward, you have an athletic team. The problem is that we are now in cap hell. 3 huge contracts on the books, and add good sized contracts like laettner and kwame and we cant sign a free agent unl;ess we find someone for the mid level exception. Decent trade, but im waiting to see who the other players to be named are as they may make or break this trade for the wizards.

You have discovered a theme. throw in former warrior Larry Hughes and we have a team of recycled warriors. Forget the Clippers, we have been promoted to WARRIORS OF THE EAST!!!!

yeah...i'm waiting to see what all that is as well. if we can turn this pick into shaq somehow i LOVE the move...if not i'm mediocre...like i said...i loved antwan...he played his butt off.

i think this deal is good because we get a good player in jamison and get rid of mr. 8 day a week rental old man laettner the only hit we take is losing the number 5 but knjowing the ZARDS it would be a bust anyway

Brilliant move by the Wiz. Dump the dead weight, and free up some cap room.

Jamison is an undersized PF, or an oversized SF. However, he is a dominant scorer who can put up 40 every night(he's averages 20+ for his career). And the fact that the Wiz dumped Stackhouse is a plus. He's 6-9 230, so he can abuse undersized Fs.
C: Thomas/Haywood
PF: Brown
SF: Jamison
SG: Hughes/Hayes
PG: Arenas

the guy can score definietly and he works hard now if kwame can develop and no injuries next year we could finish a few under .500 and that means playoffs
god i hope my Mav's can unload stack to the lakers in the deal for shaq...not a fan of his at all

I won't miss Stackhouse ONE FREAKIN BIT! Good bye...
Laettner was a decent player for us...but I also won't miss seeing him go.
The possible lineup Akhhorus posted seems fairly decent to me...except our Center position. Center will kill us next year....

DO IT ERNIE! get rid of the dead weight in stack and christian. i wouldnt like giving up the #5 if it was the 2003 draft, but this draft is weak IMO.

That's incredible that they got rid of both of those contracts. Stack will fit in well with the Mavs, maybe replace Jamison's 6th man spot.

Kwame needs to take over the 5, he's as big, if not bigger than most Eastern Conf Centers and having him on the floor at the same time w/ Etan or Haywood just clogs the lane and slows the offense -- none of those guys are much of a threat to score down low, the perimeter guys can't drive w/ the lane clogged and have to settle for j's...bad offense. Also, Jamison was a much better player in GS when he was at PF; they moved him to SF to put Fortson/Troy Murphy into the lineup and he wasn't the same player. So I'd like to see them with Kwame at C, Jamison at PF, Arenas and Jarvis at the guards, and maybe Jeffries will finally get on the court at SF - otherwise, slide Hayes over and put Hughes in.
Stack is a stiff, and dumping his contract is huge. Fentonator, you better hope he's headed for LA, because he sure as hell won't help the Mavs where they need it: defense.

The Wiz have alot of offensive firepower. Jamison, Hughes, Hayes and Arenas can all go for 30 points a night. What I also like about this deal is that they free up cap room down the road. Jamison only got 29 minutes per game and still got nearly 15 points and 7 rebounds a game.

Dont forget Kwame who had random offensive outbursts last year when he was playing the best big men in the nba. Remember the game when he torched jermaine oneal. He got like 35 and 20. Ithink kwame's going to breakout and get 18 and 10 this year as the center.

OK This is what I think we need to do.........
We already have enough offense mainly from Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes, and now Antwan Jamison. The problem is the chemistry. They need to learn how to play together, thats why we averaged 17-18 turnovers a game (worst in NBA). We have a lot of talent in Larry Hughes, Gilbert Arenas, and Antwan Jamison. Now we just need to learn how to play together and then we will eventually get some wins. And I sure hope that Kwame breaks through next season, but I don't see how he can be a player like Jermaine O'neal if they don't give him the ball as much as him.

The franchise is cursed, anbody who shows up here forgets how to play or how to check their egos and then remembers when they leave:
Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Chris Webber
Why can't we ever have players like that????

I think I finally might be able to see the wizards in the playoffs
