Well here is my random thread of the week. Just to bring it to people's attention. An orioles pitcher who is playing at single-A Aberdeen struck out 15 batters in 5 innings. In one inning he struck out 4 batters becuase one of them was on a wild pitch. The next inning in comes the bullpen, and in 2/3 of an inning the reliever gives p 6 runs and blows his win. His official line was
5 innings, 1 hit, 0 walks, 0 runs, 15 k's. I say call him up now, and make him your ace. At least he'll do better than Sir Sidney.

Sidney Ponson is terrible. Any chance you know this guys name? Because I've heard the O's have a GREAT pitching prospect but i forget his name. I say move this guy your talking about up to AAA and see what happens. If he continues this, call him up. He sounds MUCH better than what we have now.

The Birds have Adam Loewen at Delmarva who is supposed to be incredible, I think he's their number one pitching prospect. They also have a kid who they called up to AAA name Maine who was just tearing up the lower leagues who is supposed to have a good future. What worries me is that these young pitchers won't be ready for another 2-3 years, and at that point we're going to need to replace Raffi and Javy.

Maine was the guy I was thinking about. Yeah SkinsCT, I was thinking the same thing. But the O's still have a good amount of money left, they didn't spend it all. We'll be in the running for Freddy Garcia next year I'm sure (with the Yankees of course), and we could find some good replacements for Raffi and Javy when the time comes.

The problem with the best minor league pitchers the O's have is they're pitching in the bigs already.

Luis Ramirez was the guy's name. He isnt even a top prospect. The O's traded their best prospect, Denny Bautista, for 36 year old reliever Jaso Grimsley. It mad eno sense. Bautista is supposed to be a top of the rotation guy, and they traded him away. They still have a good number of solid pitchers though.

Sidney P. blows!!! I can't believe they brought him back this year. He had an OK season last year due to his contract being up ... works like that in all sports!
I didn't know the O's had a good farm system, so that's some good news for this team. I'm tired of the Yanks winning and wish the O's can be competitive with them and the BoSox. But, by then hopefully I'll be rooting for the Northern VA Expos!!!

They traded Bautista because he was absolutely terrible when he played for us in the big leagues. I read somewhere (I think the Post either today or yesterday) that Bautista had and ERA of 36.00.........36.00!!!!!!!
