Damn what a terrible draft this was. The Magic must not want to be good for a long time.

Even if they drafted Okafor they probably would have still had to wait for a few years to get a supporting cast.

the best pick so far has been Iguodala to philly, Great pick! If they keep Iverson, Iguodala wil be a good tag-teamer who can do the little things needed.
Also, I like the crowd reaction to Stern and the commentary...the best was Stern's look after the crowd booed the announcement of the Wizards trade.

I think they booed because they were expecting to hear fresh news, not something that was all but done and reported last night. At least I was expecting a different trade when he started to speak. The cash considerations was fresh news though.

I know, thats why they booed, but it was funny. Stern's look was classic...

Did Sergei Monia just win the Rashard Lewis award?

you know, a decent center will fall to the Wiz in the second round: someone like David Harrison from Colorado or Vroman from Iowa St.

I wonder how Kwame is handling the his moving to the 5 spot talk that was running rampant through the streets of DC today?

The rumors are move him to 5 so that Jamison could play his natural 4. Hayes or Jeffries at the 3, and Arenas and Hughes in the backcourt. It's early of course, but that's the scuttlebutt right now.

On a side note, I have never, ever heard so many foreign and high school names called in the NBA draft before. It's mind boggling.

That's what they need to do...maybe a little small, but this is the east.

I remember a time when 6-11 and 245lbs wasn't small for a center. :)

wasn't that right about the time that the hogs could dominate at 6-3 and 250?

kwame had some of his best games at center. i think it would be wise to have him play equal time at the 4 & 5 spots.
this draft has been very boring btw........the best part was stern's slip up...."The Seattle SaSaSupersonics"

Yeah this draft was pretty boring. I used to love to watch the NBA draft because of the individualism (is that even a word? Well, it is now!) of the players and their skills and shudder at how good the team would be now that they drafted the next star. We got a glimpse of it last year with the first three picks, but this year I'm just wondering if any of these players can even play in the NBA. Except for Okafor, I'm not really seeing much.

They shouldn't have taken him... they should have taken Emeka Okafer because their defense SUCKED last season... Over 101 points given up a game and a 46% for the other team?!

Yeah the Magic made a mistake IMO. Okafor is gonna put his notorious work ethic to action, gain tons of muscle and be a force for years to come.
