He's a great race car driver who acts like a moron. We all know he has a bad temper, but he has a bad habit of getting physical with people. If he's not going after Robbie Gordon,he's knocking the microphone out of a reporters hand.He has a pattern of abuse and it brings shame on JGRacing, his sponsors, and NASCAR itself.I hope they throw the book at this idiot or let him fight the wrong guy and watch him get his butt whipped!

The least Tony could do is pick on someone a bit bigger than Vickers! lol
Eh...I still like the guy. Tony makes the sport interesting, and he is NOT the only driver knocking guys off the road (Hello Harvick or Kenseth) or getting into post-race fights.
A lot happens on a road track that the cameras will never pick up. I wonder what the full story is.

I agree Mark....but the difference with Stewart is that it tends to happen more often with him.
Anyhow...it is good for the sport in-a-way. He does need to learn how to control himself a little better.

This is what you get with Tony nobody should be suprised, does that make it ok no way, but Tony is a hot head when Dale sr ran people off the track week after week it was looked at as the intimidation and people loved it he was the man in black the bad guy, but when tony does it he does not know how to drive come on. I do think somebody should kick tony's ass, but to date it looks like he picks fights with the right guys(and girls). Vickers comes out of this smelling like roses he seemed to handel him self real well. Little suprised Crusty did not chime in with his words of wisdom, he is always good for a sound bite.

I agree. Dale Sr. was revered by many, yet did the same thing Tony does now on a regular basis.
I guess Tony will always be the black knight of NASCAR...but at least he has a Cup Championship to prove his driving ability. He didn't put everyone into the wall to win those races! ;)

The #3 was the Intimidator when it was still a southern sport. It's teetering on worldwide now.Defend the punk, yes IMO he's a punk, all you want....He has a history and he's not above the sport.Nascar will go on without him.I understand that driving 200/mph inches apart can get people high strung, but why don't the other drivers continuously act like Stewart? Are they singling him out?He doesn't have the nickname SMOKE for nothing!

Exactly what I was about to say....but a little differently. But the same point.
I'm sure it happened but I don't remember DE Sr. ever getting out of his car and attacking anyone. He did it from the cock pit of his car.
With that said. I can't honestly sit here and say that Dale Sr. never fought someone. I don't that. But I don't remember it ever happening....

What does that have to do with the fact that Dale Senior bumped people around the track back then like Tony does now? I haven't been a NASCAR fan for long, but can someone tell me how many out-of-car fights Tony has been in?

I don't want to speak for Axe...but I think what he meant by that is that it didn't make it to a national wide audience. And in the south it was alright for heated arguments and such. But when it went to larger stage more people started to make a big deal about tempers and such....
Sorry if I'm wrong Axe. But thats what I took from your statement.

I do not think the new rise in popularity should be a deciding facter in weather or not fighting among drivers is ok, it was not cool when it was a southern thing and it is not cool now, when its a world wide thing. I will put it like this, any thing played by men has the possibility to start a fight, i have even seen it in golfing. I do not defend what Tony did, or has done ,or will do in the future but it comes with the package, and a lot of people do not like it and Tonys popularity is suffering cause of it , every race i go to they boo the hell out of him , he is far from a fan favorite. Lets face a fact Dale sr did a lot of the samething tony did, does that make it ok? no but a couple of years from now i do not think people will be saying "remember when tony knocked the wind out of Vickers", no they wont. The sport is worldwide and that is a great thing but no one saw this, there was no camera the only reson we know about it is because it went public, if you want a fight that was seen by the public look at Rudd and Harvick fighting on the roofs of the cars and the pitcrew getting into it as well, Harvick got suspended and rightfully so does Tony deserve to get some punishment sure but the simpal fact is it does not matter he could miss two race's and still be in the top ten at the end of the year. The bigger picture is what about Gibbs? what does he think? does he want to continue down this road with Tony? Winning is a funny thing a lot can slide bye when your good at what you do, and no can tell me Tony is not one of the best around. Personaly i do not like the way Tony acts sometimes, but im a Gibbs Racing fan first and foremost if They kick Tony to the curb tomarrow i will route for his replacement, when DJ left gibbs i did not go with him, however he does hold a special place in my heart for the Daytona win.
If you do not like Tony call him a punk and hope bad things happen to him but do not act like this is a new thing in NASCAR its not, as long as hitters rush the mound, hockey players cheep shot one another, and WR do danceing in the end zone, Drivers will bump, flick eachother off and have issue with one another.

You're right on CarMike.Listen, what Earnhardt did was "'back then".Before political correctness and time out.Do you guys remember Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough going at it[knockdown dragout fistfight]on the track. That was then. We're in a new era and these guys are being watched and adored.I like the old ways better, let men be men. That's not going to happen now, there's too much money invested and at stake.Because of Tony,I only shop at Lowes.I don't mean to disrespect any of the members who may work at the Home Depot, but I believe in brand loyalty and I won't support his race team.[Sorry Coach Gibbs]
The penalty is a joke,IMO.
I happen to be a little biased,I'm a Ford Man! :D

Well, I may be of the new NASCAR generation, but I still enjoy a bit of "bumping" and "handling things like men".
BTW - Who are your favorite drivers?

No...Biffle isn't officially going to Joe Gibbs Racing. (yet)
That top 10 suspension list is interesting. Tony only appears once, while Harvick shows up twice. (and that doesn't include Harvick's game of "tag" with Kenseth a few weeks ago)
