What do you think will be done to replace him at Left Tackle because despite the last few years those are still some big shoes to fill.

I said Whiney this year, but I don't think that he will do as well in a full year of starting.

I also think that because of the d-line upgrade and the money invested if the Ogun deal goes through coupled with the importance of a LT when ramsey takes over will see us draft a 1st rd OT to replace Chris and act as insurance as Jansen and Thomas near 30.

Winey for this year... but I think that Buges can get one of the rookie offensive linemen up to par by next year. That lofty expectations but I trust Bugel's eye and coaching.

I voted free agent in 05. I think I'd just like to see a bluechipper going against the other teams best de. And assuming we stay healthy I really don't see another glaring need to address in free agency.

I think Winey can replace Samuels this season, remember that RT will be the blindside with Brunell under center. LT are extremely expensive in FA so my preference would be through the draft, but I do believe that Winey did a fine job replacing Samuels in 2003 and could be the answer there, or perhaps moving Dockery outside.

I don't think he gets replaced until at least 2006.

Does this sound wierd or what. While taking my nap today I had a dream that we traded Sean Taylor before training camp. We got the De from Miami and a second round pick. Is that wierd or what. :banghead:

I picked that IF he goes, Winey will take his spot more than likely, depending on what we receive for him.

How often does a guy like Gallery come along? I don't think our draft pick will be that high, so I will go with Buges finding a jewel (actually just picking the right guy) even if that is a 20th pick in the 1st round or in the third round. Not having a second round sucks!

I would be comfortable going Winey. I liked what I saw from him last year. I don't think we need to invest a high draft pick to replace him. Joe Jacoby was undrafted, wasn't he?

That's fine but only if he chooses the Postons or has expressed a desire to play for Miami rather than us.

Oh yeah I voted Winey and then 05 first rounder. He can get the job done but who would we have for depth? Does Kenyatta Walker play LT? I guess they could also really like one of this years rookie tackles. I think we would be better keeping Samuels unless Bugel knows something we dont. If we pull a trade for Ogun and ship them Samuels, it probably has a lot to do with Samuels play vs. Wineys or Bugel couldnt be ok with it.

It's not that weird. We almost traded Ramsey his rookie year.

Under Bugel, Whiney could develop into a force in a 2 or 3 yr span.

Agreed. He has the physical tools to do it. 6'7", 315 lbs (sorry don't know what that is in meters and kg!)

I don't really care about Sameuls leaving. Sameuls is a putz. But..........Samuels is the bomb.........I sure hope they don't let Chris Samuels leave. But if they do.......they need to get somebody of Ogunleye's worth in return.

If he is not traded this year, they might not end up with anything. See Stephen Davis last year.

I must have missed something...are we still trying to get rid of him....Didn't know that!

Samuels is not going anywhere. He's going to have an outstanding year and we'll play him what he wants. Unlike Champ, he's not giving any indication that he wants out of Washington. ... I think just he wants to get back on track and play up to his potential. AND if he does, WHY would we want to get rid of him - that WOULD be a foolish move.

*response oozing of sarcasm*

What you talkin bout man, Winey is just as good or better than a No.2 overall draftpick/ 3 time probowler. Don't you know that.

Whiney did pretty well for a back-up last season

i'm not really concerned about samuels' level of play, or ability, just his shoulder and his cap hit. he had surgery on the shoulder, now he needs surgery on his contract. hopefully both get better.

I think we should keep him this year. Capwise we are ok. If he returns to top form he will be more marketable next year. If not, cut him. Although we wouldn't get nothing for him wouldn't it clear up a lot of cap space. It would be more important what we got for him if we had other gaping holes on the team.
But we don't. And it appears most of us believe that our coaches can work wonders with B rated talent.

I like the approach lets wait till next year and see how he plays and how contact talks go.

We can also see who is available for trade or what the draft class is looking like and we can decide how to approach dealing and replacing him if that is the way we want to go.
