You go looking for a fight, you will find one.
They should know better than to leave their pit and confront another pit crew.

I agree, but I also agree with Evernham who said that Tony needs his butt whipped. He's provoked more fights without fighting his own battles than any racer that I've ever seen.It will only take 1 good whoopin' to settle his self on down.IMO

I am a Stewart fan, but I am not an apologist for him. What he did to Kahne earlier in the year was uncalled for. What he did 3 weeks ago, by striking another car driver was uncalled for, and he probably should have been suspended for one week.
However, what he did to Kahne in Chicagoland was not intentional, IMO. Immediately after Kahne got out of his wrecked car, he was interviewed by NBC. He admited to "being loose" and missing a gear during the restart. After consulting with Evernham later in the day, his story changed a bit. (To put it in OBC terms, Evernham "coached him up a bit".)
I think Kahne missed a gear, which ultimately slowed down his car. Anytime you do that during a restart, you run the risk of getting bumped from behind. Heck...there was contact on virtually every restart last weekend.
It's a shame it happened...but I don't think it was intentional. Tony had the best car on the track that day, and he knew it. I don't think he would have intentionally taken anyone out, knowing he could have passed them 2-3 laps down the road.

Well said dj. Agree 100%
I'm no Stewart fan, other than the connection with coach Gibbs, but that didn't look like it was a plan to wreck Kahne.

I agree that it didn't look intentional on the replay. However,he has a pattern of behavior. How long will this stuff go on before he loses the benefit of the doubt? In real life, they throw the book at you for doing the same wrong things over and over. When do we draw the line?......Never?

That is the problem. Tony has done so many stupid things over his career, that anytime a wreck occurs, everyone points the finger at Tony. But that is his problem. He made his bed...and he has to sleep in it. As a #20 fan, I've learned to deal with that. He gets no benefit of the doubt, in any instances. And that is ok, b/c he brings that on himself...however the Tony haters (and there are a lot of them) will go to any lengths to claim him guilty even when the evidence points the other way. It's as if they need to punish him for past incidents.
Its a shame too, b/c he raced his a$$ off this weekend, and his win is now shrouded in controversy. Gotta tip your hat to Tony for not burning out after his win in the grass. Him and Zippy obviously knew there was controversy, so they laid low. That was the right thing to do, but he won't get any credit for it.
