So was that a JD move or did he do it at the behest of others in the crew? Where is the real story? Also, I wonder if Joe was consulted?

NASCAR is a tight fraternity. They do a great job of keeping their dirty laundry private.I don't know if the truth will ever come out,but you can bet Joe was consulted on this matter. As for FatBack,he's a good crewchief so he shouldn't be out of work for long. He'd bring alot to some struggling teams if they could afford him.

Bobby was having a pretty good year... 6th place... so this shocks everyone (including Fatback himself). I wonder if perhaps the last race (on Sunday) had something to do with it. Bobby fought a tight car all day and ended up 18th place. I wonder if Fatback was blamed.

My father told me today that this really wasn't a surprise. He said that their had been rumblings that this might happen.

We can only assume the decision was made for the betterment of the #18 team. And I'm positive Joe Gibbs was consulted on this decision.

Why?What's the reason on the rumor mill?Chemistry?Lying?Buffet table?
Maybe because he didn't bring the crew down to protect Zippy from Kahnes crew.

Alot of the time he doesn't get the particulars as to why things are being mentioned. I can say that alot of the stuff that he warned me would happen over the years indeed occur. Sometimes some of his info turn into duds, but 90% of it is right on target.

Cool...I'm not questioning your sources.I'm just curious if there was a spin to put with it.This was a pretty high profile situation.

I will give you one reason he may have gotten the boot im not 100% sure of the track but do you remember when he lost a race ( i think it was dover or the rock) because he only had one battery and they had to stop and change it that falls on him, also as good as a car as they give him each week he should be seeing more wins, however i still do not think this is the best move at this piont in the year but i guess we will see what happens. I think they should have finished this year with him and next year moved him to the new team.
