"I want to play," said Molinaro, who played defense at Notre Dame before moving to offense before his junior season. "I want to start. I want to make a name for myself. I'm not there to be a backup

that's great that he is competetive and wants to start. i hope he's willing to wait a couple of years, because i dont see him beating out randy thomas or dockery for a starting spot. we should have good depth at least in case of injury, or to let the guy in the game once in a while in a rotation to let someone rest.

I'd be interesting in knowing myself...

Do we have any Fighting Irish fans on the site who can let us know about him?

You gotta love his enthusiasm and love the fact that Buges probably picked him and Wilson out, which sets just fine with me. Nothing like developing as a young offensive lineman under the great Joe Bugel. Kid has to be in heaven!

Love the confidence. Both of the young guys will be given the opportunity to make a name for themselves and earn a starting role in the future. Basically, he's saying that having Bugel as your O-Line coach is like having Picasso as your art teacher. If he's willing to learn he could be very good.

that enthusiasm might be one of the things that caught the coaches eye. i think both of these guys are going to be really good. i think we'll be saying later what a steal they were to pick late in the draft like we did.

I'm glad to see some of these guys really getting fired up. Our starters better come out looking impressive... I think some of these new guys are pretty enthusiastic to be a part of this team, and they might just give the starters a run for the job.

Short quote, but really tells a lot about his desire. I think we picked those two young OLine men for a reason and they maybe starts in a year or two. I hope at least one pans out and if anybody can get them in shape it's Buges.

he has the desire, but not the experience or timing. with our oline the way it is, it could be awhile before he cracks the starting lineup. he could make for trade bait(or make others trade bait).

Good news, thanks for the article! Big part of me is equaly excited about the return of Bugel as much as Gibbs! As much as I get on #60's case I believe they signed these guys because they sized up Fiore as a deadend, and not so much as a Chris replacement. Realy looking forward to two weeks to see these guys in action. If either of these two make the team it would be nice to see some spot-work out of them, any word of meanstreaks out of this kid or Wilson? For the time being though, talk is cheap, remember Ross Tucker........

When it rains, it sometimes pours. I am getting the vibes that good things are happening (maybe the D-line will even surprise us), and these two young offensive linemen we drafted this year are going to be steals. I look for one of them to replace Samuels, sooner rather than later, because Samuels is just too expensive to keep beyond 2004.

molinaro at 6'-6 and 309, wilson at 6'-6 and 314, winey at 6'-7 and 315, kenyatta jones at 6'-3 and 310, dockery at 6'-6 and 345, those are some good future guards and tackles, some good depth, and winey is the oldest one at age 26. this line could be together under bugel for a long time.

who knows though somebody this inspired could be buge's secret ace up his sleeved which leads to samuels being dealt for a great d-line'man

He's a project. Might be a practice squader this season.

i think if bugal has an ace up his sleeve, it is the fact that there would still be depth behind the starter if samuels was gone. the starter would probably be winey, or maybe jones, but then we'd still have plenty of safety net behind them with all these young guys, plus great continuity for the future.

Two Things

1. Great enthusiasm

2. I could see this guy being the replacement for Randy Thomas down the road and if he is this fired up and he hits the gym and the practice field hard then who knows.

I agree it will be a couple of years before we seriopusly have to have this discussion.
