since we are discussing the offensive MVP in another thread, i was wondering have we already talked about who will be defensive MVP? i think most people will say arrington, and i wonder if taylor has a chance to make this much of an impact....but i'm going to say Barrow. i think he will lead the team in tackles and provide leadership in more ways on and off the field, locker room, practice, etc. with his experience and work ethic.

i think our trio of Arrington, Washington and Barrow will be our D MVP1A-1C w/ Smoot being 2A and Taylor 2B.. i really don't care as long as our DLine holds the fort up front.

i think it will be arrington. he seems to be more focused. i'd say he did pretty good under college coaches the last 2 years, now imagine him under REAL coaching. otherwise, my candidates are smoot and springs.

I am going with Smoot. Snyder will sign him to an extension during the year and he will be better than Baily.

It's gonna be Smoot's year ! With a big FS , some (hope so) penetrating LB's and a (Hope a lot so) helping Dline, he could emerge as the team's best def player.

I think going into the season, its got to be Arrington. He's assuming the leadership role and has a chance to put up some great numbers this year. I looking for him to be the major force of our D.

good question Wolf, why don't you poll it? Barrow, Wasington, Arrington, Smoot, Taylor, Springs............Springs (injuries ?)...Taylor ( to green)...Barrow (won't stand out like our blitzing OLBs)...Washington (not LaVar)...gotta go with LaVar....Smooooot could be huge but LaVar will be huge.

Its Arringtons time to step up and take his game to a new level. It better be Lavar, or we could be in trouble.

I'll go with Marcus Washington. I thought about Smoot & Hollywood, but I think Smoot will turn into a shutdown corner and won't get many looks, LA will be specifically blocked which will leave MW to run wild.

LA. 9 sacks, 120 tackles, 6 ff, and 4 INTs. That's the type of year I'm predicting from him.

I said Greg Williams. Without a doubt he will be the biggest difference between last year and this. As far as players I would say the LBs they could all have huge years.

thats actually a good theory. i could see teams focus on lavar and washington gets the sack. that's also one of the reasons i voted for barrow. i can see everybody flying around out there and barrow just stuffing the run, then i think he'll lead in tackles, but also lead in more ways than one, bring the "intangibles" to a leadership role.

welcome, BledBrgndy&Gld. how good could arrington be if he gets to stay in the same system for a few years? that's what i've always wondered. how has his development been stunted by switching schemes every year since he got out of college?

On a team that has several unproven players on what appears to be an underachieving defensive line, I say who ever steps up and plays the best up front. The rest of the team is so immensly talented they are all expected to perform.

I think Williams will deserve a lot of the credit but coordinaters don't get it. Lavar will come into his own this year and establish his name with the Ray Lewis' of the leage. he has the supporting cast that could allow him to break out.
For my unsung defensive MVP I am going with Barrow. I think his leadership and solid pay will raise the level of everyone on the defence. A good leader can win with average troops we are asking Barrow to win with awesome troops.
