The Expos got two minor leagues as well. I think the Red Sox win this trade. They can move Ortiz to DH, Mientkiewicz is a great defensive 1b and can hit. The Red Sox also got Dave Roberts from the Dodgers to fill in for Trot Nixon.

Good so now the Cubs can be known as an even bigger bust then what they started. I was really rooting for them this year cause my Indians are going nowhere...I shouldda known :banghead:

Everyone needs to remain calm.....there is plenty of room on the Cardinals bandwagon.........akhhorus already has a seat reserved.......albeit in a different section than mine, but I digress, he is on nonetheless.

Actually I am rooting for the Cardinals to win it this year. I love Pujols and I think Rolen is a GREAT player. I hope they do it (since the O's are going NO WHERE). I think both teams made out with the Cubs-Red Sox trade. Boston may have gotten a slightly better deal, but I'd still take "Nomah" to play on my team.

what are you talking about? The indians are having a great season and they look like they're gonna be very good for a long time, belliard has been great, and Martinez and Hafner look like they're gonna be beasts for a long time. They wont make the playoffs this year but I look for big things from them in the future

The Red Sox improved their defense but weakened their offense. This move was more based on the offseason since now they don't have to worry about Nomar. I do like how Theo collects first basemen though.

I am rather upset that the Phillies didn't do much at all other than give up Ledee whom I really like. Bowa will likely be fired soon and it will be another postseason without my Phils I am afraid. I thought this team could get hot and walk away with the East but it will be not easy now.

I know some Twins fans who showed up for Saturday's game, and they were shocked to see Doug M__________z (I'm not even going to try) was wearing a Red Sox uniform. Getting traded is one thing, but getting traded to the other team in the midst of a series is pretty whacky.

I was a little disappointed by the deal, simply because I have a foul ball on my shelf that was hit by Doug. After he hit it, it hit me. Then it dropped down in front of me and I picked it up.
