Last I heard was the that Expo players were told they'd be in DC next year (who knows if that means the District or Northern VA). No idea about the name, but I think they should not consider the Senators since this is competely different.

Check the history books. When we had a team before, they were the Senators. It's not just a stab in the dark name.

The relocation committee was in town yesterday to meet with both local groups. No word on what they said.

I know. I'm overly feisty right now. three days till HOF game. Less than a week until Madden comes out. I'm a little more volatile than normal. :drunker::rpunch:

If you want to be really precise, the official name of the team for most of its history was the Nationals. From 1901 to 1956 they were the Nationals. The team changed the name to Senators in 1956 because the name Senators stuck from an 1890's era team. When the Nationals/Senators moved to Minnesota in 1960, the new expansion team adopted the Senators name too, until they left for Texas in 1971. So they were officially the Senators for only 15 years.
But when they were the Nationals and Senators, they were called the Nats for short. I guess Nats made for a shorter headline in the paper such as "Nats lose again!" .
