This is a terrific group. Voted for Larry Brown, but could have easily voted for Charlie Brown, Daryl Grant, Jerry Smith or Len Hauss.

Larry Brown is my all time favorite Redskin. But WOW!! Talkin bout some late round finds. This list could be the nucleus of a great team.

A solid group, but I had to choose Brown.

My thoughts exactly.

I voted for Jerry because he gave us about 14 years of solid play and when he retired he had more catches than any tight end in the history of the game. I loved Len Hauss though. He was a hog before we had hogs and anchored the line for about 15 years.

Larry Brown was good and I liked him, but it was only for a year or two before his knees gave out. I think he had about 2 or 3 1000 yard seasons.

I am surprised Charlie Brown is in second place. He only played for us for three years (the anti-Paul Krause logic) and had only 1 1000 yard receiving season. He doesn't even belong on the list with Larry Brown, Jerry Smith and Lenny Hauss.

Gotta go with Jerry!

Hey WB. Larry's stats were quite impressive.

(QUOTE): Named NFL Most Valuable Player in 1972-73 season… Second leading Redskins’ rusher of all-time with 5,875 yards… Shares the Redskins’ all-time single game record with four touchdowns… Appeared in four consecutive Pro Bowls from 1969-1972.

He is also deaf in one ear. Until they planted a microphone in his helmet, he moved when he saw everybody else move.(At least that's what my uncle told me when I was a kid) And he played a lot of games, (including the SB loss to Miami) on those bad knees. I've seen him get helped off the field and limp right back out there 2 plays later because we needed 2 yds for a first down.

Sorry, just didn't want the younger guys to get a watered down version of Larry Brown. He was one of our best. Incredible Heart.

I voted for Jerry Smith, a great TE. No TE had more catches than him when he retired. Rightfully his bio can be read from the front page of this site.

Great assembly of names, I went with Larry Brown, but could have easily pick anyone on that list ......

Pretty good group of players .....EXCEPT Barry Wilburn (B-Burn). Man, was he a poor player.

Larry Brown, IMO, was one of the greatest RB to play for Washington. He gave his body for this team. I still feel that Washington owes him a great deal.

Len Hauss hasn't received any votes, which is preposterous. It should be him or Larry Brown. I guess most people have no idea how many years Hauss played and how highly he was regarded at the time.

Good point and he's the best center the Skins ever had (IMO). But then again, there's only a handful of us who ever saw him play.

Jerry Smith is another great. Votes for Smith, Hauss or Brown are all fine. I wouldn't go for any of the others.

Daryl Grant was the fattest and best rapper of the bunch. Always had a soft spot for "World," but he's #4 on this list.

I assume that is Brown, as in Larry, not Charlie. If so, agree 100%.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Lenny. He was the best center the Redskins ever had. As I said earlier, I struggled between him and Jerry. I wish I could have voted for both.

Wow... Hauss doesn't have any votes.

Gotta be at least in your mid 40s to remember him. Maybe this will help.

Helped lead Redskins to the Super Bowl in 1972… Started 192 consecutive games for the Redskins between 1964 and 1977… Named to the Pro Bowl each year between 1967 and 1972.

Most memorable moments with Redskins involved his teammates… “Had the opportunity to play for some of the greats”… Most proud of family… Pre-game ritual entailed setting Harold McLinton’s pads before each and every game… Inspired by coaches at every level: “I was taught to work hard and give it all and then good things happened”… Most admired teammate was “all of them”… Always proud to say he played for the Redskins, a franchise he says “will always be a leader in the NFL, especially with its great fans.”

Ok. Let the votes start rollin in.

I was saying I was surprised by the fact that he doesn't have any votes despite the player he was... BTW, I'm in my mid-20's, but I've done my homework.

Len Hauss - He was the epitome of a Hog! before there were HOGS! This man was, and is, the ultimate center of the Washington Redskins. :)
