View Full Version : PRESEASON GAME 1: OFFICIAL GAME THREAD
Spence
08-09-2004, 12:35 PM
For all the members who have joined since the end of last season, we at hR like to avoid dozens of game-related threads popping up on the main board, pushing other worthy topics off the page. For that reason, we typically use one official game day thread. This is for use during the game and immediately afterward. Any game-related topics should be posted in here. Please DO NOT put up threads about what a great catch Darnerian McCants just made or what a great tackle Regan Upshaw [hey, it could happen!] just made. Those comments are welcome, but they belong in this thread only.
With that said, enjoy the game and please post in here as often as you like to share your thoughts about our first look at Joe Gibbs 2.0!

Coreect and we will also sport the return of Grading the Units and Game Balls. I will put thos ethreads up later. This is our pre-season as well, to get everyone acclimated to the hR in-season way!

are the old timers "thread nazis" about it? if you posted a message like "did you see the catch mccants made!!! i really hope he starts getting more touches and earns the #3 spot.
would people freak out over things like that?
i personally can't watch a game and post at the same time i am too animated.

We don't like people cluttering up the board creating threads all related to the same game. Eventually you would end up with a bunch of threads that have fewer views and fewer post because they would be moving down the line because others would be creating the same type of thread.

Damn, you took the letters right out of my keyboard! I've been yelling that all day long.
When I was a child, my father would turn on every tv in the house as loud as it would go and we'd run around the house jumping on the beds singing along with that country guy, "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOOTBAALLL! A MONDAY NIGHT PAAARRTYYY!"
Ahh, it begins again.

Okay, now they're showing portis run it.... That counter trey's looking reeeeally good.
Portis went more than 20 yards 24 times in 2 years.
redwolf1218
08-09-2004, 06:53 PM
i think everyone expected Gibbs to get a big power runner, but i also think he realized the way to beat that counter trey is to run it down from behind with a fast end, like a kearse. a fast back like portis will be gone though.
edit: did they just say portis had 24 runs of 20 or more yards? no wonder he has such a great yards per carry average.

End of first quarter.
Denver is moving the ball but they look to be really trying to win this thing. They've run alot of misdirection. I see the Skins are playing some zone defense which I didn't expect to see alot of. It makes sense though because Williams doesn't want to show much either. He's run some basic blitzes but nothing complex. I'm basically seeing what I expected but I like what I see from the Skins in terms of game management.

Not sure why Jimoh is still on the roster
