I have Madden for PS2 and it rocks. I've only tried Xbox in a store, but I didn't like the controller...too big and bulky for my hands. I have heard good things about Xbox itself from people who have it, but nothing in particular to Madden. I guess my vote is for PS2. I'm also not sure how it works yet as far as PS2, Xbox, and the PC version playing together online. All my buds have PS2's as well. I think last year PS2 and PC's could play together. Enough rambling...I probably confused you by now. Good Luck!!!

XBOX, my man, XBOX. I had a problem with the controller too, but you can get a smaller XBOX controller that kicks ass. PS2 is now only good for Final Fantasy games. XBOX beats PS2 anyway you slice it. Trust me, I used to think PS2 is better, but that's before I bought an XBOX. I don't know anybody who plays PS2 anymore, seriously.

buy an xbox... i hate sony now
xbox is more powerful and has cooler games unless you're into time consuming games like Final Fantasy and even that series is getting more retarded over time. get an xbox... dont need to buy the additional crap that sony makes you buy.... for example
Disc Space:
PS2 - Have to buy 30 dollar memory cards
Xbox - Already has a a harddrive
Internet Accessibility:
PS2 - Have to buy a harddrive and network adapter
Xbox - Both are already built in
and who cares about controllers, youll get used to it, stop your complaining

XBOX, XBOX, XBOX! I hate people that complain about xbox controllers being too big. THEY HAVE SMALLER CONTROLLERS!!!! Defenately buy an xbox. It is better for sports games IMO. Especially now that EA Sports and xbox Live have come to an agreement. PS2 is getting old now to a lot of people. No one ever really liked Game Cube. It was at the bottom of the three new systems ever since it came out. So xbox is the best.

Well, it seems like Xbox is the one.... Thanks to everybody, and please, keep posting your opinions... I need EVERY detail!
How about the game?? Do you all think Madden is the real deal??? Or should I get more than one :) ?

Well... For some reason, I'm not really playing this one as much as '04. And I wasn't playing '04 as much as '03. I think my playing time is steadily declining. I don't know why, but it is. I think once I get xbox live, I will start playing it a lot more.

Uh no, PS2 comes with the Network adapter, as for the memory card its like 20 $$ max i saw a set of two at walmart for 30.
Anyhow in matters of games, PS2 owns XboX, the one thing that XboX has is HALO everything else PS2 wins.

i had a ps2 for years, then,i bought a xbox!It was great i have xbox with madden and its awesome.ps2 you have to buy memory for w/e you do xbox comes with it.I also thik xbox has an edge on graphics.Almost everything is multiplatform now so most of the games you can get for ps2 you can get for xbox to.That last comment says most so dont kill me over final fantasy and all te other games that only sony makes

Im a PS2 guy. It seems that most of my younger friends are all XBox fans, but then again a lot of them prefer 2k5 to Madden. I have had the PS since the 1st model came out and have purchased Madden for PS every single year. I only play sports games, usually EAsports, so I may not be the best judge on the graphics comparison. I guess it depends on what you're use to. Im familiar with the system, controls and quality of PS2 and have no reason to change over to XBox.

Madden Collectors Edition + Ps2 + Online (Network adapter) = hella fun
And playing ps2 online doesn't cost a dime as far as monthly fees go.

You obviously haven't been looking at PS2's very much, Network Adapters come standard. Its been that way for the past 3-4 months.

XBOX games are waaaaaaaaay better than PS2. Better graphics, smoother play, and funner games. Final Fantasy is the only game PS2 has.

I'm about to buy a PS2 (when the price goes down in the next few weeks). I know the Xbox is technically better (as well as the GameCube) than the PS2. but for me what makesthe difference is the games you can play. If you have a look on some Video games sites you'll see that there is less than 100,000 sold Xbox in Japan while Sony sell more than 100,000 PS2 a month. If the sells keep on this way, editors (ok mostly japanese) will continue to prefer PS2 to Xbox.
If you are more interested in "US games" (sports, FPS...) buy an xbox. If you like RPGs and others choose the PS2.

But he said he will have a lot of sports games... I have a whole bunch of 'em! Here are all of my games...
1. NBA Live 2002
2. NFL Fever 2002
3. Bloodwake
4. Tony Hawk's Underground
5. NBA Live 2003
6. Madden 2003
7. Crash Bandicoot and the Wrath of Cortex (Birthday present, I don't really like it)
8. Spyhunter (Christmas present. They only bought it because they liked the car on the front. The game sucks)
9. The Hulk
10. LOTR ROTK
11. Spiderman 2
12. NBA Street Vol. 2
13. NBA Live 2004
14. Madden 2004
15. ESPN Football 2k4
16. Morrowind: Elder Scrolls III (or something like that)
17. NHL 2003
18. NCAA Football 2005
19. Madden 2005
They are in no specific order at all. I'm about to sell a lot of them.
