Offense=C+ Brunell played pretty decent,Gardner made a few catches but dropped more than he should, Coles was kept in check, the O line played well but the Bucs run blitzing style kept portis in check after his long run.

Defense=B+ This D played much like I had hoped they would Washington, Arrington and Pierce were very active. Griifin, Salevea, Wynn, Daniels and Warner played very good against the run and added more pass rush than a year ago. the secondary did not miss Champ today but galloway was out and they lack the weapons of a team like the Rams.

Special teams=C Hall missed a 50 yarder, our coverage teams werent stellar and our return team provided the same blocking they have for quite a few seasons now.

Coaching=B- Gibbs would have won challenges on the goaline run by Brunell and the fumble caused by taylor prior to the end of the first half, potentially adding 6-14 points. He however along with Gregg williams called a great game plan never abandoning the run or the blitz whaen the momentum swung in the 2nd half.

Defense -- B+ //// Really played well and kept the Bucs offense off-balance. The Falcons game was not a fluke.

Offense - C //// Had first one good (TD) run by Portis. Brunnell had good mobility and made some good passes. He also had a few muffs, and went stale for about half the game. Brunnell missed some open receivers. Offense went limp for over half the game, almost letting Bucs make comeback. Did not get touchdowns in red zone.

Special Teams - D //// Missed 50 yder. Return kickoff coverage was awful. Set up a score by Bucs. Redskin kickoff and punt returns were lame.

Coaches - B //// G. Williams called a masterful game. Offense started well and then then got conservative. Questionable ref calls were not challenged, sacrificing some points we might have needed later. Still, the staff did not panic as the game got close. The game should never have got close.

Offense: C+ to B-... It was really great in the first quarter with the big Portis run and the few completions to Gardner, but after that, they did poorly.

Defense: A... They are the reason we won the game.

Special Teams: C-... They gave up too many yards on returns and missed a field goal.

Coaching: B+... It was good overall, especially with the offensive line.

O- C Brunell needs to be more consistent, staff mix up play-calling a little
D- A Great effort by the "mediocre" D-line
St- C Kickoff coverage must improve
Coching B+ A little more paly-action and getting the ball to Coles would be huge

offense-c:23 total offense yards in the 3rd quarter? c'mon guys...

dfense-A: sure the bucs arent a great offensive team, but limited to 30 rushing yards? hehehehe

St: B- kickoff coverage must be better.

coaching- a: never abandoned the plan, thats why we win.

Offense Grade - B started fast, slowed down then finished it out.. against a good/great Defense
Defense Grade - A- solid all game long.. could've been a shutout if the kick coverage was better and the muff by Brunell
Special Teams Grade - C+ kickoff coverage shaky, Tupa solid and made Schroeder go back on punts often
Coaching Grade - A Gibbs' first game was a win.. only gets better from here

my man had almost a hundred yards other than that run...they didn't do a whole lot to keep him in check to be honest

Offense: C They really didn't put together a long sustained drive the entire game. Not sure if Gibbs pulled out all his tricks or not but the offense only put up one touchdown and that was on the long run. They were good at eating up the clock and they moved the chains at the end of the game when we needed to. But if it weren't for the defense and field position I'm not sure if the offense would have scored another point today.

Defense: A+ Not sure what else they could do better. They really didn't give up a point. The FG was due to poor special teams coverage and the only touchdown was given to them by our offense. They stopped the run and covered the pass while getting good pressure on the QB. They kept us in the game and did their job.

Special Teams: C+ The return game was solid, nothing spectacular but we had good field position a majority of the game which allowed us to pin them deep. The coverage units on kickoffs were absolutely horrible. Not sure where those guys went but they need to play like they did in the preseason.

Coaches: B Great job by Greg Williams with the defense. The offense sputtered in the 2nd half and I thought there were some questionable play calls at that point. But a win is a win.

Offense (C) Gardner had WAY too many drops. I don't think we tried to get Coles in the game. We had the fumble that led to the FG as well. However, Portis was incredible. If that's what this season is gonna be like then watch out. Even Betts had a couple of nice runs. I think we should use him more to give Portis more rest so he can be fresh by the end of the season.

Defense (A-) The d-line was better than I expected. Bowen played like he was Alvin Walton. Linebackers were good and Smoot played very well. I don't remember hearing Springs name too much either. That's always a good sign. We don't miss Champ (yet).

Special Teams (D) Coverage was HORRIBLE!! We did have one decent return. But I can't fault Hall for missing that 50ydr. Those are about a 50/50 chance even for the best kickers. However, he nearly missed that FG at the end of the game and the game might have gotten interesting if he did.

Coaching (B+) We did a good job of trying to wear down the D-line w/the run. But Gibbs should have challenged Brunell's scramble and well as Gardner's 3rd down catch. Gregg Williams called an excellent game on the defensive side of the ball. Its great seeing an aggressive/attacking defense.

Offense (C) Gardner had WAY too many drops.

One is too many? That's all I saw. The first pass play. Other than that, I saw him make quite a few catches, but don't remember any more drops. Gonna half to start calling him 90/10 here in a while!

Offense: B Why? Good rushing, great blocking, no sacks. Tampa has a good defense, and the OLine played superb. Simeon Rice? Who?

Defense: A Why? Su[per aggressive schemes taking on the Gregg William personality. DLine did just fine. Great job by Bowen and Smoot.

Specials: C Why? Guive Tupa and Hall a thumbs up, give kickcoverage a big fat F. Gibbs will get to work on this unti!

Coaching: A Why? The difference in last year and this year, not play wise, but scheme wise, attitude wise, discipline, werll, it is just night and day folks. Kudos to Gregg Williams!

Offense: C- (take away Portis 64 yarder and we produced less than 250 yds)
Defense: A+ (holding a team to less than 200 yards - unless it happens tonight, NO OTHER TEAM did better this week)
ST: C (75% on FG, 100% PAT, KO poor at best, Punt coverage OK, Punting above average)
Coaching: B+ (good job all around BUT I'd have gone for that 4th/inches)

I was begging Gibbs to go for the 4th and inches. Hey, as aggressive as that defense was playing, and with Portis in the back field, i woudl have handed the ball to Mike Sellers and his 250 pounds lunging forward.

Offense C - There's a lot of room for improvement. Got to get the center and quarterback exchange fixed. Other than the run by Portis, not really much to look at. Gardner still dropping easy balls.

Defense A - What more needs to be said here. Williams kept his word about being aggressive and the players are loving it.

Special Teams C+ - Too many long returns given up even though penalties were the called.

Coaching A - I think the coaches did a great job. It is possible Gibbs wouldn't have won the challenge.

Offense - B-: Not like any of us expected to come out and put 30 points on the Bucs, but I was frustrated by our inability to move the ball during the majority of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Even though Brunell had the fumble and made some confusing throws on 3rd and long plays he was as effective as Gibbs wanted him to be. Portis is all we expected him to be and then some. His TD run is one of the great moments since, well, Gibbs was coach.

Defense - A+: Couldn't ask for anything more out of the defense. Stopped the run all game long, only allowed one play over 20 yards. We got pressure on the QB, made solid tackles, and caused turnovers.

ST - C+: Hall was solid as always, Tupa was fantastic. Our KO coverage was subpar.

Coaching - A: No doubt about it. Gibbs had every player prepared, Greg Williams made Jon Gruden look very bad. One thing has already been made clear thus far through camp and our first game: we won't lose any games this year because of mental mistakes or ill-preparedness.

O: B-, no passing attack despite great protection for Brunell.

D: A, only allowed 3 points.

ST: C+, none of them looked good except Tupa's punt was nice.

Coach: A, how can it be anything else.

Offense - B- Ate up clock and kept our defense fresh, needs to be more effiecient.
Defense - A Better performance than I imagined
Coaching - B I think the second/third quarter play-calling was suspect offensively, but I feel like we still held a lot of our playbook out to save for later.
Special Teams - B Punting/coverage and field golas were great. Kickoffs worry me a lot.
