Hey, guys
As Joe Bugel would say, I'm "jacked up" tonight after all the Redskins-happenings. So, I ended up putting together the biggest "memory" file yet, at about 10 minutes and over 25 MB. Maybe it's too much, I don't know, but, for the love of all creatures great and small, it's DALLASS WEEK!!!!!
You'll see many great clips from Gibbs Era 1 that should DEFINITELY get you fired up for Monday night.
Also, I put up the George Michael piece that everyone's been talking about. It's pretty interesting. For the record, I think Riggins has the right to say whatever he wants. That's now his job. But his comments about Gibbs not wanting to be there, wondering if he made a mistake coming back, etc. are just typical overblown exaggeration (I know that's redundant) that I've come to expect from most sports media types who love to jump on the negative immediately. It disappoints me, especially coming from Riggins.
To say he thinks Joe is struggling is one thing, but to infer that Joe is "there physically but not mentally" and to suggest that he may be regretting coming back at this point is just stupid. Riggins, these days, just seems to have become enamored with the sound of his own voice the last few years. I think he just tries too hard lately to say something to get people riled up or to further his own reputation as a "wild card." I love the guy, but I do think he's off base on this one.
Anyway, enough ranting. Here's the link, and let's hear some feedback on this one. What's your favorite clip from the montage? (Btw, that 80-yard bomb from 84 is finally featured here).

Hi, LadyN
The best thing to do with these clips is to save it to your hard drive BEFORE viewing it. Just right-click on it and choose "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" and choose what folder to save it to (or just save it to your desktop). Then, when it's done, double click on the file on your computer and view it that way.
You can always download an updated free version of RealPlayer at www.real.com. But if you just click on the link and watch it that way, it's more apt to stall midway through.
Hope you can view it!

Thanks, man! :-)
That scrum was great. Olkewicz saw a Cowgirl grabbing on to a Redskin too long after they kicked an extra point, and he nailed him. Danny White thought that Olke took a cheap shot, and attacked him. Then all "hell" broke loose. I love seeing one of the big Redskins literally toss Newsome to the ground like he was a rag doll. The best part of the srum, though, that I didn't have time to show, was that the entire crowd started the "We Want Dallas" chant afterwards. Fan-friggin-tastic!

Wow, my body temperature just went up about 5 degrees. I am totally pumped. The clips from the '82 Championship game are so personnally special to all of us. So much of why the Redskins are so dear to us shows up in those clips.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
A new chapter begins Monday Night. Let's not be disappointed if the passion that was in that stadium in '82 is not replicated Monday Night. In my opinion, it cant be replicated. But, we can start a new chapter for FedEx. One that can be built upon. Let's rock the house from start to finish. The moment we've been waiting for since Jan 7 is upon us. History is in our grasp.

Tom,
Thanks for posting that George Michael clip. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to see it, so thanks for getting that up there.
My favorite Dallas clip is still the Daryl Grant interception. Grant knows that he has sealed the game up and you can see his excitement as he high steps into the end zone. I love hearing the Frank Herzog commentary for that play... it gives me chills. I've only heard it on the 82 Redskins yearbook special they play on ESPN and whatnot, but it's so fantastic. "...Intercepted by Daryl Grant... TOUCHDOWN WASHINGTON REDSKINS!!!!" Frank goes crazy... it's wonderful.
That, and hearing Jack Kent Cooke say that in all his years in football, he's never heard a crowd go crazy like they did during the 82 NFC Championship. It's unbelievable. That's what it needs to be like Monday night.
Tom... Brilliant, matey.

I am speachless at the moment. Those clips gave me goosebumps and just made me want it to be monday even more. I can not WAIT for Dallas! I want dallas, and they will know that I am a skins fan, because they will be hearing my victory chants all the way from philly after the game. Bring all you've got boys, because you will need everything you can get your hands on.
WONDERFUL clips. True pieces of art, its down right poetic.

Jim Vance looks a lot older than I remember him. Of course, I haven't lived in the D.C. area for about 15 years.
