My coach would never have let a score get that high. He would pull the starters, play the freshman, whatever. He never believed in running up the score. It wasn't worth the damage it could do to those kids and their perceptions on football and life. I agree with him.

DAAAAAAMMMMNN!!!!!!!! That's worse than our football team! Sure we're 0-4, but we never lost like that!!! But ISF has a point. You shouldn't try to run up the score and put the wrong idea of football into the kids' heads.

It's high school not pee wee league, I'm sure the other team can take the loss without having any emotional damage...if not that doesn't say much for their mental health.

Just so every knows.
Our Coaches had everyone but the water boys in, they were spiking balls, downing balls etc...they even tried to stop the game twice, but the coaches from the other team wanted to keep going...their kids were real troopers and played hard up to the last minute...I was told their kids were handling it like men!

I think winning probably wasn't everything this night

GO CLEAR SPRINGS!!!!!!!! (That little school rocks in my opinion)

I'm a freshman so I wouldn't know. I asked some people and most of them said "Probably. We suck." lol that's sad.

Yeah my old coach wouldn't do that either. It comes to a point where trying to get a college job goes too far.

EDIT: Nevermind, I accidently skipped over Mom's post.

funny score - in my homecoming game in N.C. (1995) we beat NW Halifax 81-0 too, and set a state record for margin of victory. we also did not try to run up the score. none of our starters played out the first quarter (it was 28-0)... here is how bad they were, though - at halftime, our coach put in our 3rd string RB as QB (he hadn't taken a snap all year). on the first play of the second half, the new "QB" fumbled the snap, picked it up, and ran down the middle of the field for a TD. our coach threw up his hands and asked "What else can I do?". good times.
