Cooley in Madden 05

Boy, they really messed up his stats and look. He has a mustache? No way! Anyway, I'm glad they allow you to slightly modify the player models in this game. You can't change his face, but if you give him a big red mouthguard you can no longer see the mustache and that really makes him look more normal.

Wish they'd take more time with the rookies, it's not like they couldn't find a picture of him, especially after draft day.

I bumped up his stats a bit too... anybody else try this to get a better fit with reality? What would you stay his stat ratings should be? (I think I made him a 78 overall)

i think a 78 is fair, but players drafted at that position would usually be lower. it is high for a mid round rookie.

Yeah, I let him progress naturally. Just like in real life, he caught everything for me and did very well.

Same here he went from 69 to 78 in year 1 and then hit the 90s.

Cooley is surprisingly good in this game. He rarely drops a pass, and blocks pretty well.

I have espn 2k5 where he is severely underrated at 63 overall, and he is listed as a tight end. With the updated online rosters he is a 69 and plays fb, and he must have a very high break-tackle rating because he does just that a lot.

I agree but I sub him out on I-Formations I would put Kozlowskin there and Rasby at my FB. Blocking is nice when those two are in there. COOLEY HIGH will be a top TE by the end of his 3rd year.

cooley is my leading WR in the preseason so far, and i am expecting big things in the red zone.

pretty much like everyone else i didnt touch his stats and let him raise by itself in the franchise and hes one of the top TE in the game. i think his overall is like 95 or something like that.

i made him a 75. i use him as my TE, with kozlowski and royal backing him up. i use sellars as my fullback.
