The offense is defintely clicking today. If we can just eliminate the mental lapses and penalties we'll be great.

Cleveland was coming hard with the blitz on that 3rd down play, but we had the right call for them.

nicefellow31
10-03-2004, 01:06 PM
I meant to say 4th down play.

rskinsfan10
10-03-2004, 01:06 PM
Gibbs has got some big ones for that 4th and 6
Confidence baby, confidence.

Tim Green needs to shut up about using the timeout. It's not like you can carry 1st half TOs into the 2nd half.

ShaggySkins
10-03-2004, 01:07 PM
If the offense can eliminate the penalties they look great. Its when we end up starting 1st and 20 that we are in trouble.

colkurtz
10-03-2004, 01:07 PM
I'm glad we ran it in on the 1. I would have had to beat my head against the wall if we'd settled for another FG.

Now let's have a good defensive series....

nicefellow31
10-03-2004, 01:07 PM
Good point about the to rskinfans12. If you are going to use one, do it before a critical 4th down play.

PGiddy18
10-03-2004, 01:07 PM
where did you sign up?

NFL.com, its 9.98 a week, and i will be watching a lot of games on the tv, and even going to a few (hopefully!!) so i'm just gonna do it weekly. It sucks though because I have to listen to the Browns people talk.

This is true, they call the game pretty much how it is going. LoL!!! The one guy is so funny. They asked him about how they thought the browns were doing and he says "Well we made 2 plays today!! Didn't result in anything... and still havent' scored a touchdown in the first half"

I like Gibbs as much as anybody, but I tend to not like living in the past. I have learned that is simply doesn't do much. Gibbs has been away for a long time. Much has changed since.

He simply hasn't done a great job this year. At least not yet.

Major difference. This is a new offense the skins are learning and we're only 4 games in. Spurrier's team were still screwing up nearly two years after he took over...

He's learning, it will take some time. However, that 4 and 6 call was masterful. Also, it is not Gibb's fault about all the penalties, dropped passes and fumbles. We'd be 3-0 if those had not happened....

I wish Portis would average more than the 3.9 yards a carry he's getting right now, but hey, we're winning, and Coles and Brunell are looking good. Not too bad at all if you subtract coverage and penalties.

ShaggySkins
10-03-2004, 01:33 PM
We need to come out and just pound on this Browns line. They are worn down and if we can get 7 at the half we can probably put them away completely.

It's that our team is extremely undisciplined, not very imaginative on offense, too predictable.

The guy upstairs was appointed by Gibbs right? Gibbs still has last say. Gibbs doesn't challenge the Brunell run in week 1, but challenges this Portis fumble??????????

It's that our team is extremely undisciplined, not very imaginative on offense, too predictable.

The guy upstairs was appointed by Gibbs right? Gibbs still has last say. Gibbs doesn't challenge the Brunell run in week 1, but challenges this Portis fumble??????????

I know you don't want to hear all this, but this team is no different than the Spurrier days.

#3 Ranked Defense

Gibbs doesn't coach the "challenge guy"

We'll be alright

I'm starting to think Clinton Portis was a product of Denver's system. What has he shown since coming to Washington? He hasn't even played the toughest rushing defenses in the league and he does nothing nearly every game. I know it's early in the season, and hopefully he'll pick things up, but I'm starting to think Denver got the better end of that deal.

It's not all his fault, but since that 64 yard run on his first carry, he's been pretty mediocre, especially when you consider the costly fumbles.

DB's broke on Gardner the same moment in which Brunnel reached back to throw, hard to switch between recievers in that position.
