Everyone here knows I'm a huge Jr. fan. Just to get that out of the way right now.

Now, I was watching "The Last Comedian Standing" last night. Primetime none the less. And I heard 3 of the 4 comedians use worse language than Jr. did. Bitch, asshole were a couple of the words I heard them use.

Part of NASCARS reasons for deducting points and fining Jr. were due to the FCC striking down on TV stations for not beeping out obscenities.

Will the comedians be fined too? I don't think so.

I just hope this doesn't come back to haunt Jr. Was he wrong? I guess so. But, NASCAR really needs to be fair across the board. They need to make rules and stick to them. People have accused Jr. of getting unfair treatment. And I agree. He does. With that said, they really need to quit this "making a rule as it comes" need to be put to rest.

It has become a joke.

Didn't they fine two other drivers earlier this year for bad language?

I'm not sure, but I thought that I read that somewhere.

I believe you're right Kenny. But they didn't take points away from either....I could be wrong since I don't read about NASCAR in the papers...

Millions of little redneck kids look up to Dale Jr.....not too many look up to comedians.....of course he deserves his fine.

And oh yeah..."making a rule as it comes" is a NASCAR staple....

Thoes drivers where both docked 25 pt's just like JR, the rule was out there befor JR broke it everyone know it......as far as Nascar makeing it up as they go along rubbish, they do change rules, but that is to try and improve thing's . example would be at different tracks different rules, its not football with a set feild each week the trak is different befor each race they tell all the drivers at the meeting of any change's that might happen for that race, everybody knows the rules.......It is a bad rule no question but if its the rule and other's have been burned by it then thats the rule, i hate that this happend because unlike some i care about nascar and if Jr loose the championship because of this it will get real ugly, his fans will be pissed and the driver who win's will have his campionship put into question, all around its a bad deal.

Thats very nice to say frank....

You tell me this, do you think there were more people watching the race or Prime Time TV?

I said from the beginning that he made a mistake for what he said. Just like NBA players [Shaq comes to mind] are fined. I don't have a problem with that. But taking away points is just crazy.

I hail from Arkansas - I guess that makes me one of those "little redneck kids" you spoke of Frankeee - probably better to retract those types of statements in the future bud.

Now - on to the issue at hand - although I agree that Nascar needs to keep a tight rein on the use of that sort of language in the sport - Im not sure I agree with taking the points. This type of fine was in the same league with Robby Gordons punishment for causing a wreck (suspended 2 races I believe) as well as Tony Stewarts earlier in the year. It doesnt seem fair and it is obvious that Nascar is trying to make an example of Jr. I support him this time.

Nascar is systematically ruining their sport by trying to appeal to such a large audience base. Making rules up as they go will only hurt them in the end.

When Nascar created the 10 race traveshamockery thing, they made those races more important than the previous ones and therefore should not treat punishments the same way. If I were Jr. and I lose the title by less than these 25 points, I would book airtime on the Speed channel to drop four letter bombs in between the words "Nascar Officials".

Sorry about the redneck comment ya'll....I guess that in todays world "redneck" is a derogatory term....I'll try to remember to git-r-dun when it comes to appropriate comments regarding NASCAR and their perceived fans. I guess I had a temporary Milton Bradley moment....please don't attack me. Yee Haw!

I prefer the name brownneck!

Good description PadricJude.

RedskinsDave,I believe that you're right on the money. It's at a different time of the season.I think that they could have made the fine more expensive and left the points alone.

CarMike,I feel for you man.You are correct in the correlation between racing and Last Comic.

He should refuse interviews after races...its not like that word isn't said on tv anyway. If they must dock him points, they should make him start next season -25 points.

I believe Nascar did nothing wrong. For some reason ( I don't know why) The b***h word and Heck word have been used on TV for years but the S bomb Jr used is not accepted on TV. I am not saying it is right or wrong just the way it is.

As far as the points goes. This has been done this way before and nascar for once kept the rule the sameIf Jimmy Spencer had said this and got fined and lost points it would be no big deal but if he would lose 2 spots in the standing it would likely be a chunk of change he would lose so I don't believe it is any different and Jr knew the rules (even though it was an accident) rules are rules

Skins57, what would you be saying if Gordon had been fined and had points taken away?

Jr. isn't the only driver that NASCAR has "protected" over the years....

Homestly, i would have been upset... but not with Nascar with Gordon. These guys know the rules. I believe Nascar did not show any favoritism here. They had to follow the same rules or they would have been showing favoritism to Dale. I am not sure anyone should be docked points but if they do it for one and not the other because he is in a championship chase, would show nothing but favoritism.

I have said in the past Jr was goten special treatment but this is one time I believe it was fair.

Also on a side note, didn't Roush get Martin docked points years ago for an illeagal motor or something that costhim the championship, I believe Dale Sr won it that year by less than what Martins team was docked. I may be wrongon this one

NASCAR is going down the tubes, people.

I have been a NASCAR fan since the mid 70's, and they are trying to destroy it.

I did see that interview with E jr and he should of been fined, but having points taken away too?

That's BS.

I am a Bobby Labonta fan, so I am not siding with little E because I am a fan of his.

frankez99, the word "redneck" doesn't bother me. I have been called worst.

It is just a WORD.

You know, sticks and stones.

Don't sweat it.

Excellent points skinsfan44. "Redneck" doesn't offend me either. But it does others as other words offend some people....

I don't have a problem with NASCAR fining Jr. But taking away points is absolutely CRAZY! Could you imagine the NFL taking points off of the board after the game is over? Say if the Redskins had just beatin the Ravens in the Super Bowl. Portis just won the game on a last second run. During the celebration he uses the "S" word followed by the "H" word.

The Redskins arrive back in DC and they find out that the penalty is 7 points. They take those points away so the Ravens are now awarded the SB. Where's the difference?

Fine the drivers all you want. But no sport should take away points from anyone. EVER! I don't care who the driver is.
