View Full Version : Lavar saw "Friday Night Lights" tonight...

I know this...because he was in my theater! Lavar and his lovely fiance attended the 7pm showing of "Friday Night Lights" tonight at the Movie theater at Fairfax Square. (near Fair Oaks Mall) He was decked out in a black under-armor sweat suit and scull cap...while his fiance was wearing a pink sweatsuit. The ring on her finger must be 2-3 carrots, considering my wife saw it sparkle from 30 rows away.

Here is the akward part of the night. I happened to be wearing my #56 burgandy authentic jersey tonight! (Dork! :D) When the theater let out, he walked past me, pointed at me and tapped his chest to acknowledge the jersey. I noticed while he was walking to his car after the movie that he had a pretty noticable limp...so his knee is definitely not close to 100%.

Lavar has been known to go back to some of his high school football games in Pittsburgh to get his love of football "refreshed". Obviously, he watched this movie for a similar purpose. Anyway, the movie was GREAT...and I highly recommend it.

WOW thats unbelievable. I don't know how you could have watched the movie with LA sitting right there. AND you had your #56 jersey on. Way to represent dj, thats an unbelievable story.

Lucky! I would have run up and asked to shake LaVars hand. He's a hero, lol.

And I don't doubt that your wife saw the ring from 30 rows away, the dude has a fat contract, lol.

PS...was his girlfriend hot? just because you're married doesn't mean you can't tell us....hehe.

you are one lucky mofo. must have a horseshoe nearby. thats cool you were wearing your lavar jersey...just goes to show, you never know who you might run across or when...tonight my girlfriend gave me an awesome Redskins shirt, not a Jersey, but i hope i'm wearing it if i ever run into Lavar or any other Redskin. great story! thanks for telling us about it.

Damn dj! Like everyone else has already said, great story! You guys are so lucky to live in the hometown area where these kind of things could happen.

I lived outside of Charlotte for a couple of years back in the mid '90s. I was always keeping an eye out for coach Gibbs but never saw him. I even drove by his racing complexes and didn't catch a glimpse.

All honesty, I had a customer about a mile north of Gibbs Racing Inc. But I did go out of my way to see if I ever saw coach Gibbs....:D

LOL...a part of me thought he was going to ask me to take it off since there is still some "mystery" to whether or not he actually signed the NFLPA contract. (You can thank the Postons for another "mix up")

To the person who asked if his fiance was hot. YES. But she is very tall. In fact, she is almost the height of Lavar, who is listed at 6'3". She had a "Beyonce" look to her. Very, very attractive.

and what would you have done even if you did see gibbs? i'd prolly be so scocked if i were driving that i'd like smack into a pole or something.

I thought LaVar would have his own movie house at home, but I guess that was in the missing 6.5 million of his budget :D

What else can I say? Cool story man!! You guys are lucky to be living in the hometown area. I don't see any Redskins in SoCal. As a matter of fact I saw MeShawn at the mall last summer with his wife. Too bad I wasn't wearing my Redskins attire when I saw him. It would have been on. :sfight:

My favorite scene was when the hot supermodel/robber was frisking the hot cop. :D Anyways... When we were leaving the theater, some guy who was walking fast bumped my shoulder. I turned around to see who it was. Guess who......................

Damn, I need to get some Skins over to the movie theater I go to. I saw Friday Night Lights last night... it was good, but Remember the Titans still ranks as the best football movie ever in my mind.
