Hey, what about the republicans airing a TV special that preempts broadcasting that "they" call a documentary on 65 stations 2 weeks before the election? (Just read on Yahoo news) Ol' Rove who succeeded with the swift boat ads, is at it again...I guess you gotta appreciate his efforts.
It just pisses me off.

No Jim, like Spence points out when there are sleazy liberal groups, I will point out that the owners of that station are not an official part of the GOP.

Yeah, Sinclair is a close political and financial ally of the GOP and Mr Bush, but it is a private company. An effort to pressure Sinclair sponsors is currently underway and at least one national sponsor has pulled out as a result of this pressure. Local sponsors are also feeling the heat. One local business has decided to pull its ads from WMSN/Channel 47 in the wake of the station's decision to air an anti-John Kerry documentary next week.

The owners of the Paisan's and Porta Bella restaurants said that after receiving about a dozen complaints about the program, "we just decided that we didn't want to jeopardize losing any customers over this," said owner Jerry Meier.

He was among several business owners who said they have received numerous calls from patrons upset that they advertise on Channel 47.Source (http://www.madison.com/toolbox/index.php?action=printme2&ref=tct&storyURL=%2Ftct%2Fnews%2Findex.php%3Fntid%3D14032% 26ntpid%3D0)

Sinclair are good Republicans, though. They are being sued for racial discrimination [source (http://www.thewbalchannel.com/news/3805874/detail.html)] and the Sinclair CEO is a pervert:The president of Baltimore-based Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., which owns the local Fox television affiliate, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with committing a perverted sex act in a company-owned Mercedes, city police said.

David Deniston Smith, 45, of the 800 block of Hillstead Drive in Timonium, who also is Sinclair's chief executive, was arrested in an undercover sting at Read and St. Paul streets, a downtown corner frequented by prostitutes, Baltimore police said yesterday.

Smith and Mary DiPaulo, 31, were charged with committing unnatural and perverted sex act. Smith was held overnight at the Central Booking and Intake Center and released on personal recognizance at 2 p.m. yesterday. DiPaulo's bail status was not available.

Officials at WBFF-TV (Fox 45) and Sinclair, one of the fastest-growing broadcasting companies in the nation with 28 television and 34 radio stations, would not comment yesterday. The company had $126 million in sales in the first half of this year.

Police said undercover Officer Gary Bowman, on a prostitution detail, was talking to DiPaulo about 9: 15 p.m. in a car at St. Paul and Read streets. She left the undercover car after telling Bowman that ``she had just seen her regular date driving in the area,'' according to court documents.

Police said DiPaulo ran across the street to a 1992 Mercedes, registered to Sinclair, and got in on the passenger side. Police followed the car onto the Jones Falls Expressway, where they said they witnessed the two engage in oral sex while Smith drove north.

Police said they followed the car back to Read and St. Paul streets, where they arrested Smith and DiPaulo, who lives in the 700 block of Washington Blvd.Source (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/atrios/ss.jpg)

Funny.....

Thanks for the tip Jimskin, but if I am not mistaken, conservatives protested and the network buckled under the pressure and did not show it right?

To balance this out why not show farenhiet 911 right after this junk.

To balance this out why not show farenhiet 911 right after this junk.Michael Moore suggested that, but Sinclair wouldn't agree. Sinclair is a pro-Bush and pro-Republican company. They refused to air a "Nightline" program about U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq because they said it was anti-war and unbalanced. Now they're airing this anti-Kerry fiction. Tells you all you need to know about their committment to balance. Sort of like the Fox News version of "fair and balanced."

But that's our liberal media for you.

CBS caved, but it was shown on Showtime a couple of weeks later.

Jim, You are totally right. They did keep it from the airwaves. I wonder if we could keep the Sinclair thing off the airwaves...James Brolin (Memories..)....Barb.... It is out on Video and DVD. We have this precedent.. What do you think SPENCE?

Spence. This should be a pretty good position for an attorney.. The Regan documentary was kept off the public airways...In an election year one shouldn't be able to put a damaging video out in the last two weeks of an election unless the agreeved party has a chance to respond in kind. (Fair/911). Is it more complicated?

Showtime does not have the viewership that CBS has so that compromise favored the Ronald Reagan worshippers.

UPDATE: In the time it took me to write this post, they named another three buidlings, A road and a cat after Ronnie.

Basically so many righties whined and CBS caved despite the fact that this was not a documentary claiming facts. Free Speech took a broadside on that decision.

SO when libs complained about the airing of this Anti-Kerry (Swift-Boat Losers) crap what do the righties use as a defense......FREE SPEECH.

I am sure the Judge who shot this down is a Righties Cult Worshipper

Let me get this straight.....NO free speech for Reagan, but free speech for blasting Kerry....

That blows that liberal media bias crap out the window...

Not to mention some major flip-flopping going on
